Are Obama’s primetime TV appearances designed to damage Fox?

President Obama is wearing out his welcome with America’s television networks. Especially at Fox, home of his harshest critics.

The economy is struggling, advertising sales are dropping, ratings are sagging, and all the networks lose revenue Obama interrupts their regular primetime programming. But none are impacted as severly as Fox.

Obama always requests primetime coverage on Tuesday, the one night of the week that does the most damage to Fox.

Fox “owns” Tuesday nights thanks to its two-hour American Idol programming block. Next week the network will be forced to shift its line-up, pushing each of the regular “Idol” broadcasts back a day.

“At a time when we’re struggling.....

The networks often refused President Bush airtime. No reason they couldn’t do the same with The One. Well, except their being chicken and all.

I don’t think it’ll damage FOX. His appearance on Leno will only possibly take away some sliver of viewership from the second half of the replay of O’Reilly. As for anything prime-time, Hannity and Greta will work out the 10 p.m. slot. I think the more the zer0’s teleprompter speaks to the nation the more people will tire of the zer0.

They don’t want to piss off their boss, y’know.

I think Fox will play this game for five or six times...then refuse one. What you’ll notice....is a fair number of folks who watched Fox...and a lesser number who watched the President. At that point...the ABC/CBS/NBC crowd will question how much they are willing to ‘donate’ to the administration. His ‘silver bullets’ are slowly running out.

Now I am pissed! American Idol, on their last show, said that the next week show will not be aired because of King Obama big stupid mouth at it again. I'm prepairing to record some shows to play during that time slot to prevent the urge to heave.

No problem.

Have American Idol at it's regular time on the FOX Network. This will not only steal away Obama's younger audience, it will also drive up the Idol ratings as there will be nothing but Obama on ABCCBCNBC.

For the news junkies, Obama's news conference can be shown live on FOX News.

I strongly doubt it. Fox is easily the most liberal of all the networks. The Fox network and Fox news are completely seperate entities, and I think that the author either didn’t realize that or forgot about it.

Believe it or not there will be a LOT of AI watchers who will not even have a clue that the speech is scheduled. They will tune in expecting AI and when they see his face come on for the speech...well...talk about pissed.

Tuesday’s AI will be Wed., Wedesday’s AI will be Thurs.

Fox should have declined. The only thing I thought of was it was going to tick off a lot of AI viewers. Well, that, and he sure needs a lot of air time.

It doesn’t need to be on all stations, anyway. (As if it needs to be on at all.)

I just don’t understand why he has to be on at Primetime again. I definitely understand that State of the Union...I absolutely have no issue with that. The ONLY time he should talk is if a nation emergency is going to happen like 9/11 or war in Iraq...The President getting on TV telling us about what he is doing with the economy is not necessary. The Stock Market and employment numbers tell us that as well as other indications. This is totally a selfish move on his part. Not to mention, he is on during the day DAILY!!!!!

Fox doesn't have to put Zero on. There are more than a few of us wo won't watch him regardless. I supse if he said he was going t set himself on fire with gasoline I might consider watchig but short of that probably not.

Molon Labe!

They used to refuse Reagan’s requests to broadcast his addresses. The media would say, “This is a political address. We won’t air it.”

I’m OK with Fox being impacted. Just don’t be messing with Fox News. People who watch Fox News won’t be watching Hussein — unless they have a really low gag threshold or something.
