On Saturday afternoon, in the midst of Chicago's famous St. Patrick's Day celebration with its tradition of turning of the Chicago River green, a cadre of concerned Republicans met to plan a way to capture the Congressional seat of Chicago's 5th District, the one being vacated by Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.
The candidate charged with this task is Rosanna Pulido and she only has about three weeks to do it. The special election for Emanuel's seat is to be held as soon as April 7th.
Her supporters and other interested parties (me included) met at the top of a Michigan Avenue high rise in the comfortable setting of a decades old executive dining room of a Chicago insurance company. The rich wood decor was meant to invoke an old Irish pub, but carousing wasn't on the schedule that day. Planning a political campaign was, however.
This meeting, dubbed a "council of Trent" by organizer and long-time Chicago conservative political activist and radio raconteur Tom Roeser, was meant to gather those that might help candidate Pulido to launch a campaign to turn Emanuel's seat red...

I think the ballet dancer’s seat is already red......ick.
Yes. Yuck! That headline was a bit too.... GRAPHIC.... for my taste.
Where are you Steele?
Go get em Rosanna.
Steele? He’s probably out “in the hood” “gettin cred” by flashing GOP hand-signs.
Or, maybe he’s taking his low-rider to the Home Depot to talk to “his peeps” who are just looking for a job (that Americans won’t do).
Thanks for posting. BTTT for Rosanna!
What makes me angry about this there was an outside chance to get this seat. When she loses ther’s going to be hype about the Obama support in Chicago. Her opponent a party hack who is a Cook County board member barely beat out a state rep in a low turnout highly contested race..Quinn will do nothing to challange the socialist change in a district which is not all that liberal.
The lady in question is going nowhere..This is a bang on doors pass out paper election not a go to the computer to read a doctinaire dissertation. She dropped her district map and there should be at least one flyer in there which should be easy to print out. Instead she’s got links to a download. Worse yet there is no allowance for imput.
When I see the name Tom Roeser who pays himself by the word in his website. On his sunday show 3/15/ he had a guest he described as a “conservative” who had nothing but praise and admittedly voted for Obama and by the way there was no menmtion of this race on that show...
The turnout in that primary was a dismal 17% I encouraged her to work those precincts which were at and below that average because that showed a voter disinterest or rejection to that race. OBAMA IS COSTING THESE VOTERS MONEY
In addition I submitted some suggestions and designs for campaign material one piece I designed I used in my precinct in a Chicago Mayoral campaign which helped me beat Richard J Daley in his mayoral race against Peter Bensinger
in that precinct. These went unacknowledged...FR’s can see one piece in my web page suggesting campaigning approaches and techniques for use by conservatives.... http://www.theusmat.com/home.htm
Good ideas for a low budget campaign. Good link to Islam & Free Will (Interesting talkies response or lack thereof). Very interesting Monday morning quarterbacking of previous elections (I agree whole-heartedly). Thanks for the ping.
(yes I read every word)
Thanks for all of the reminders to previous elections and the complete lack of offense. That has ALWAYS disturbed me.
