Soviets' Red Dawn coalition emerges

Communist Bloc Military Updates: Soviets' Red Dawn coalition emerges as Cuba, Venezuela reiterate offers to host strategic bombers - Kremlin Delighted Faux Rightist President Sarkozy Preparing to Reintegrate French Military into NATO Command Structure

- Russian and Chinese Foreign Ministers Promote the Moscow-Beijing Axis' "One Clenched Fist"

Last July the Kremlin media cautiously broached the subject of basing strategic bombers in Cuba and Venezuela. The Russian Defense Ministry promptly distanced itself from the "revelation," while America's top general warned the Russians against contemplating such a move. This trial balloon released by the Soviets took place during the Bush Administration, which was already guilty of coddling Russia's KGB-communist dictator since 2001, when then President George W. Bush looked into Vladimir Putin's eyes and "saw his soul." Now (Kenyan-born?) President Barack Hussein Obama is in office. America's first hard-core socialist president is not only determined to ruin the US economy with his ill-conceived, astronomically expensive stimulus plan, but also slash the US military's nuclear arsenal by 80 percent and restore ties with Communist Cuba, albeit incrementally, a move that will no doubt facilitate an influx of personnel from Cuba's Directorate of General Intelligence, three agents of which are currently imprisoned on US soil.

Russia, China flex muscles in joint war games
Reuters: Aug 17, 2007

CHEBARKUL, Russia (Reuters) - Russia and China staged their biggest joint exercises on Friday but denied this show of military prowess could lead to the formation of a counterweight to NATO.

"Today's exercises are another step towards strengthening the relations between our countries, a step towards strengthening international peace and security, and first and foremost, the security of our peoples," Putin said.

Fighter jets swooped overhead, commandos jumped from helicopters on to rooftops and the boom of artillery shells shook the firing range in Russia's Ural mountains as two of the largest armies in the world were put through their paces.

The exercises take place against a backdrop of mounting rivalry between the West, and Russia and China for influence over Central Asia, a strategic region that has huge oil, gas and mineral resources.

Russia's growing assertiveness is also causing jitters in the West. Putin announced at the firing range that Russia was resuming Soviet-era sorties by its strategic bomber aircraft near NATO airspace.

Venezuela's Chavez welcomes Russian warships
Nov 25, 2008
LA GUAIRA, Venezuela – Russian warships arrived off Venezuela's coast Tuesday in a show of strength aimed at the United States as Moscow seeks to expand its influence in Latin America. The deployment is the first of its kind in the Caribbean since the Cold War and was timed to coincide with President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Caracas — the first ever by a Russian president.

Russian nuclear bombers in Cuba?
July 23, 2008

The media has been abuzz today at the prospect of Russian nuclear bombers being stationed in Cuba if the US goes ahead with plans for missile defense bases in Eastern Europe.

The story has riled the US enough that a US general has been wheeled out to tell the world’s press that any Russian attempt to build another nuclear base in Cuba would cross US “red line”.

The story broke earlier this week, when Russian newspaper Izvestia quoted an un-named source from within the Russian military. He told the Russian daily:

“While they are deploying the missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic, our strategic bombers will already be landing in Cuba.”

The quote hasn’t been independently confirmed, but the Russian Defense Ministry added fuel to the fire when they refused to comment on the story.

The prospect of Russian nuclear forces being stationed in Cuba - which is, after all, only 90 miles from the US coast - would bring back some rather unpleasant memories for the US of the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, where the Soviet Union under Nikita Kruschev launched an audacious and foolhardy bid to station nuclear missiles on the Caribbean island.

McCain would not let this stand.

My husband always said the ‘big’ war would with Russia and China combined against us. And it wouldn’t be pretty on our land for the first time since we pounded ourselves.

You’re welcome. We need to continually remind people of the ‘big picture’, because the MSM obviously won’t do it.

This is OK. We got Patrick Swazye and Charlie Sheen up in the hills with Jennifer Grey to take care of those commie bastards.

MA is already communist, so we will be left unscathed.

Venezuela >> Columbia >> Panama >> Central America >> Mexico and away he goes. Chavez will be on the march soon, emboldened by ZERO’s passivity.

I expect this to start any time from now, within a year’s time.

ZERO will not do a thing to stop him. Chavez will test the waters first and little by little become more adventurous. He and the Russkies are already now making their first moves.

Are we stupid or what? What motive do the Russians have to project power to this hemisphere? They aren’t doing it for the adventure or so their airmen can get some sun or the practice.

We spend billions for social programs but cut budget for needed planes like the F-22 (the JSF is not the right airplane). Our F-15s and 16s have had the crap flown out of them, they are old and worn out or close to being worn out.

The Russians have not been doing nothing all these years. They have a whole new generation of missiles we need to be concerned about and new aircraft technology that is as good as our F-15 and it is all for sale to the highest bidder.

What’s even worse news is that the Russians and Chinese are going to deploy their 5th generation fighters (PAK-FA/SU-X7, and J-XX for China) in very large numbers. We need the F-22 to stay toe-to-toe with these.

LARGE numbers is the word.

Kinda like a retirement account that has gone down too much too late. Just keep cutting back the numbers, driving the cost up and complaining all the way. Spend billions for not enough airframes to do much good. Compromise, and more compromise to the point of nothingness.
