Meghan McCain, the daughter of former GOP presidential nominee John McCain, was on CBS The Early Show this morning, where she talked about her distaste for controversial right-wing pundit Ann Coulter.
McCain has called Coulter offensive, radical, insulting and confusing all at the same time, adding, if figureheads like Ann Coulter are turning me off, then they are definitely turning off other members of my generation as well.
I love the Republican Party, I spent two years campaigning with my father and I completely fell in love with the Republican Party, and I think its hard for me to explain to my friends that are in their 20s when these icons of the party say radical things, McCain told Harry Smith. I have a friend thats Jewish she made anti-Semitic comments. Its hard to defend that.
I just wish for more centrist icons in the Republican Party, she added. Asked who she felt should be the next leader of the GOP, McCain cited Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.

The chunky chicks never like the slender ones.
If she likes Jindal, then there must be something decidedly non-conservative about him. Either that or she's just a vapid blonde, but never rule out the possibility of both. |

Poor Bobby; the last thing he needs is Meghan McCain endorsing him.
Jindal a Centrist? Meghan... we’ll be glad to dissapoint you.
The acornette didn’t fall far from the tree.
Go away you TWIT.
I bet she can't cite a single "anti-Semitic comment" that Ann has actually made.
Geez, Meghan is getting more mileage on FR than Paris Hiltons mattress.
She really should be home knitting.
Then she must be in love with Specter.
Well, Jindal’s conservative, but not AS vocal as Coulter, being typically more subdued as many Indians are. MM is probably picking his name out of a hat because he’s “not Ann Coulter” and hasn’t been endorsed by her at some point.
There’s an off-color joke here, but I will not indulge the urge to post it.
Meghan....because you are in the Republican party DOES NOT mean you are a conservative. It means you like the elite status you have aquired because of your father.
“I just wish for more centrist icons in the Republican Party.”
Meghan McCain, in an interview with CBS on March 9, 2009
and world peace, a comfortable pair of Jimmy Choos,
and my own apartment, of course
And if Harry had half a brain, he should have asked a follow up question along the lines of "Really? She has always seemed to be such a vociferous defender of Israel; what kind of anti-Semitic comments has she made?"
RINO off spring statements are news worthy ?
I want Republicans to stop trying to be Democrats. Does that mean I want them to be more centrist?
‘McCain has called Coulter offensive, radical, insulting and confusing all at the same time, adding, if figureheads like Ann Coulter are turning me off, then they are definitely turning off other members of my generation as well. ‘
Given you can’t seem to find a DATE from among ‘your generation’ sweetie....I’d say you are an expert at what ‘turns them off’.
(chuckle)
Perhaps, then, it would be wise for Meghan to put a picture of Ann Coulter on her refrigerator.
