Obama considering talks with some Taliban?
911FamiliesForAmerica.org ^ | March 8, 2009 | Tim Sumner

The New York Times reports that during an interview Friday, President Barack Obama indicated he is considering negotiations with some elements of the Taliban. Outwardly, the concept of America negotiating with barbarians seems absurd. Remember the brutal atrocities committed by the Taliban in Afghanistan under Mullah Mohammad Omar?

Perhaps the insurgents collectively known as 'Taliban' in Afghanistan and Pakistan need closer examination. Perhaps these are not the same Taliban as the ones Mohammad Omar once ruled (he reportedly resides just across the border in Quetta, Pakistan).

Is this the same Taliban? Read the rest at the jump and then decide.

Should America negotiate the outcome in Afghanistan, fight there to victory, or just walk away?

“We don’t negotiate with terrorists... until we elect a muslim terrorist sympathizer”.

Seriously, has anyone any doubts that we aren’t needing our tinfoil hats if we think Obama is a sleeper cell of his own?

Out of curiousity, where is that quote from?

Wee have talked with them in the past and cooperated with them in other endeavors, however, this is NOT a kinder, gentler Taliban and holding talks with them at this time would show weakness in their eyes (the O man is like a babe in the woods).

Wow, the Prez is seeking out all the fun guys.
Do you think he will include the Syriams, Iranians, Cubans and North Koreans? They’re all party animals like the Taliban, too. /sarc

The very thought is enough to tell me the Obananation is clueless. Sort of in the spirit of giving 900 mill to Hamas.

Sort of like a slap in the face to every brave soldier who fought the enemy in Iraq or Afghanistan, worse still a slap in the face to every brave soldier who fought and died in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, or Pakistan, and their families.

Not to mention those 3000 murders in the twin towers, and the tens of thousands of family and friends effected. We do not negotiate with terrorists. It is the surest way to lose because they don’t regard what they do as negotiation.

While you think you are negotiating, understandable in Western terms, they have you right where they want you. Showing your weakness, and bowing to their way. After all the decision to negotiate was yours not theirs, you met them on their terms.

Am I missing something? I thought I was able to recognize insanity when I see it.

Bush won the “unwinnable” war in Iraq, and 0bama is going to surrender in a half-assed war against a bunch of 12th century cave dwellers.

Nice.

Wasn’t 0bama the one who said Afghanistan is where we need to be? That he would go after bin Laden? That we have to win in Afghanistan? What ever happened to that?

What a visionary this guy is. Where was he 65 years ago? We could have just found some “moderate” Nazis and negotiated with them and ended things “peacefully”. /sarc

I noticed this morning that the MSM is starting a New Spring Offensive to Boost Obama. Some even gave a thumbs up to this cowardly move.

I’ve only just begun to cruise today’s news. Any “special” (spirit of the Church Lady invoked) commentary I should see and be aghast at?

From the article: Mr. Markey, now a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, said the approach had to be carefully calibrated. “You fight, you talk, you fight, you talk,” he said. “If by talking, you can divide your enemies, talk. But if by talking, you’re just giving your enemies breathing space, then don’t talk.

The Russians couldn't bring Afghanistan to heel. Now Barry wants to "talk" with elements of the Taliban.

I have only one question: How do we get rid of Barry???

I know that we negotiated with some members of the Taliban early on and turned some of them to supporters of the current government, but I’d be willing to bet that any that were willing to listen have already been flipped. Negotiations with the remainder are probably a waste of time.

LOL! That's how I feel every morning myself nowadays. Barry and friends are like some kind of evil perpetual motion machine that just keeps churning away while we sleep. Every day a new horror...
