Earlier today, I was parked at the Highland Lakes (Vernon, NJ) post office, picking up my mail. My new bumper sticker (following) was prominently displayed:
When I came out and headed to my car, a woman in a nearby car, seeing that I was the owner of the "offending" bumper sticker, said to me: "Yay, President Obama. I voted for him." Real mousy voice, and a mousy looking woman; she looked to me like someone who was smoking dope every night, 25 years ago.
Knowing what a waste of time and effort it is to try to educate morons, I simply replied: "I'm sorry to hear that" and got in my car and drove away.
That’s truly hilarious!!!!
What is going on when, in your red district, a woman is riled by your anti-Obama bumper sticker, but, meanwhile, in my blue district, a man in Walmart is complaining that the country is headed into socialism. The world really has turned upside-down.
even in vernon republicans have problems with the crazy democrats?
as usual the witches just can’t keep their mouths shut and must let you know how they feel.
Where can I get an actual bumper sticker?
Mine says, I will keep my freedom, guns and money you ca keep the change.
Annoy A Politician, Defend The Constitution
It was a gift from other Freepers who know me well.
I had to make my own, get some crack n peel for your printer they dont last as long as the vinyl ones you buy, which I dont mind as I change them out every couple of weeks.
See my post #23 in this thread, for info on how to make your own custom magnetic sticker.
(I originally tried inkjet printer on high gloss paper, but the ink ran from rain/snow.)
I must live in a good area; 3 compliments with inquiries as to where to obtain a similar T-shirt, many approving glances, and one icy stare.
I'll be at a gun show tomorrow looking for more goodies with my 8 year old daughter. Who, BTW, wants to grow up to be like Sara Palin.
I’ve been thinking about getting one that says “Overturn Wickard v Filburn”, but I’m not sure if anyone would “get” it.
Er...not much of an encounter.
The paranoia and...I’ll just say lack of backbone and courage of ones convictions...around here stuns me sometimes.
I live in “the peoples republic” of NJ and have had 2000, 2004 Bush/Cheney and a 2008 McCain Palin sticker on my car and my wifes Minivan. I have also had my NRA, American flag, and my own anti-Left sticker (a slogan that I made up) on my car all within that time.
In addition, my license plate is a vanity plate with a political slogan/philosophy spelled out.
In eight years I have never had a problem of any kind from cops, other motorists, the IRS (give me a break) or vandals on ANY of my three vehicles - but I have been able to make my statements and viewpoint seen and heard to thousands or tens of thousands in that time safely.
I mean come on. Take off the tin foil hats. Vandals MAYBE but the IRS?
Its a car. Its not an investment in any case. Major damage is not only covered by insurance but is a criminal offense. We wanna throw “tea parties” but won’t make a statement? Do you think Sam Adams cared that his enemies knew where he lived? How many civil rights activists had rocks thrown through their windows in the dead of night - or worse - because of what they said?
Its just cosmetic damage to a car your risking. Take a chance. I won’t say the thought of vandalism or worse has not crossed my mind, but after almost nine years on two different cars I don’t even think about it anymore. As my experience proves, your just as likely to NOT have a problem at all.
BTW - it’s a nice car (as was my other one and my wife’s minivan) and I have had it at many rallies in NJ (especially FT Monmouth where I went often as a ProtestWarrio.
Wow. That is awesome. What state are you in so I don’t steal your idea from you. :-)
Seriously, I need to change my vanity plate (it no longer applies) and that is awesome and timeless.
thanks.
You have no basis for making a declaration on others' "paranoia" and "lack of backbone" from a simple thread about a bumper sticker.
Never got an negative comments, and quite a few thumbs up.
That is hilarious.
The same phenomenon has occurred in Tampa, FL.
