Palin: 'Elton pledged his allegiance to Obama'
Alaska Dispatch ^ | 3/2/2009 | Alaska Dispatch

State Sen. Kim Elton, who helped head the Troopergate investigation, has been appointed to a post in the Obama administration: director of Alaska affairs for the Interior Department. In response, Gov. Sarah Palin began her comments by saying, "Sen. Elton pledged his allegiance to President Obama last summer."

Seems an odd way to start a statement in which you're wishing the man well, no? Could Palin be perturbed with Elton because of his role in Troopergate?

Those who followed the Troopergate drama last fall will remember that Elton, a Democrat, chaired the Legislative Council. The council hired Stephen Branchflower to investigate allegations that Palin had her ex-brother-in-law fired from the state troopers. Branchflower cleared Palin of most charges, but did find she violated state ethics rules in one instance. Elton agreed with the findings and was rather critical of Palin in media interviews.

So, rather than examine Elton’s allegiance, they try to slam Palin on Troopergate. Pig Press.

Good. She’s willing to make it clear that she remembers when someone crosses her. That’s a +1 in my book for her.

Sanford is still ahead in my personal primary.

Bravo to Palin for calling it like it is. If Elton did a smear job and was rewarded with a job in the Obama Administration, there is no need to be polite about it. It is a payoff, plain and simple, and should be called a payoff.

Gov. Palin has bigger balls than Mike Steele.

It was the most important of ALL their attacks. (The least credible when you look at ALL of the facts though, and - the most “hurried up” of the smears - but this character is getting his payback.)

There wouldn’t be any pay for play involved here, would there? /s

She’s just calling a duck, a duck.
To do otherwise would be against her nature, imo.

I have no sympathy for any of these guys. I actually thought about looking into which of the dorks behind ‘Troopergate’ are up for reelection in 2010 and donating to any opponents.

Branchflower cleared Palin of most charges, but did find she violated state ethics rules in one instance.

She expressedly did not break a law or overstep her power.

She was cleared. The remaining insinuations of the Democrat hacks on "ethics" (unknown to rats) are meaningless.

Good find. So far, the Obots have not found the article and posted their coordinated hateful comments. I love how Sarah puts the truth out there and doesn’t shy from a fight, while not appearing rude or petty.

Even though she has every reason to be rude. She's a class act and faces the most shameless accusations with an unmatched grace and dignity.

Tough s**t and SO what? She has EVERY right to point out the “quid pro quo” that is the Obambi modus operandi - and it was all because she was defending her SISTER and her FATHER! Troll begone...

"Sen. Elton pledged his allegiance to President Obama last summer."

How to slice and dice your opponent in 10 words or less. WTG Sarah.

So she tells the truth about a thug who launched a phony “investigation” and that is slicing and dicing? Have you ever bothered to read any of those intellectually stimulating sites like, oh, Huffington or Daily Kos? Somehow I don’t think a portrayal of Palin as an evil hitwoman is gonna fly...with anyone with an IQ above a dart.
