14 Year-Old Conservative Predicts Easy Republican Win in 2012 - Video 3/1/09

The 13 year-old Conservative Prodigy Jonathan Krohn has now turned 14 -- today (Happy Birthday!)! Krohn wowed CPAC the other day with his speech there. He appeared on Fox and Friends this morning where he predicted a Republican victory in 2012 at the rate President Barack Obama is going. Krohn says he thinks Obama will turn out to be another Jimmy Carter, and that Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin or Bobby Jindal will have an "easy time" winning in 2012. This kid articulates the conservative message in an amazingly clear way. And he has something Republicans need right now besides the focus on core principles -- OPTIMISM! . . . . . . (Watch Video)

Agreed 100%. Romney is a dud. I cannot put my finger on it, but he seems like a Johnny-come-lately as far as his conservative credentials. His chorus of disingenuous “me too” during the primary really torqued me, as he wanted to paint himself as a conservative stalwart. Plus, it was sad to see McCain pick up Romney campaign rejects, only to have them subvert McCain and turn sour grapes on Palin. Despicable and unforgivable.

How true. I give the kid a little credit, but let's not elevate him to a W.F. Buckley, Herbert Spencer, Russell Kirk, George Will, Leo Strauss, Edmund Burke, Richard Weaver, et al.

It's a neat gimmick, but let's not let an altruistic, smug 14 year-old 'enlighten' us with his kernels of knowledge and pearls of wisdom (like he's some great bard or sage of ages). Give me a break.

As a high school debate coach, I’ve been around kids like this one a lot—very bright, well-read, highly articulate. They all have lacked the life experience to be completely effective persuaders, however as long as they stay on point and hammer home the facts, they can be quite convincing.

Look, in today’s world, kids who don’t know who the Vice President or Nancy Pelosi is are a dime a dozen. When we have a teenager who can put together a cogent sentence, much less a book, we should definitely stop and take notice. And give credit where credit is due—his parents.

No doubt, I hear you, and I am gald this young Turk has some fight in him and is engaged. However, at the end of the day, Krohn couldn’t have single-handedly dismantled the Obama cabal / Obama polit bureau.

As far as Romney, as much as I believe he’s disingenuous and phony, I’d take him any day over the despotic socialist now in office.

(For that matter, I would have been more comfortable if Hillary Clinton won, at least I think she loves this country, as there must be a remnant fiber of true patriotism in her as a former Goldwater Girl.)

I hear you, too. I take nothing away from Krohn. They need a little life experience to establish credibility and refined in their rhetoric and persuasion.

BTW, I loved debate in college. Debated in CEDA and NPDA, inducted into Pi Kappa Delta, too. Although my academics suffered as too much time was expended on debate prep and tournament travel.

(It's great to know a conservative has infiltrated the high school debate circuit as a coach - keep up the good work!)

Was I that one? Because I knew the minute he got into the race, Obama was going to be the man to beat, and knew he’d beat Hillary.

I predict that if Romney is any where near the GOP nomination in 2012 there won’t be a GOP anymore.

Statements like that are why we have no chance to gain seats in Congress or win back the Presidency. Romney is a good man. Might not have ALL the qualifications you want, but he would do a good job.

I am not just talking about Romney. The Republican Party is so fractured at the moment that at this rate we stand NO CHANCE. Quit bad mouthing those in the Party who want the best for their county. There is NO perfect candidate. We lost some good men in the primaries last go around. The name calling was on an insane level. We could not agree on who we wanted so we let the media and the democrats pick our candidate. Did not turn out so well did it?

This kid needs to evangelize to kids his own age most of all. Sew the seeds of the future before the public schools indoctrinate them with collectivism.

I don’t buy that pessimism. I think that as long as you articulate your position well, you can continue to sway people and not worry that a particular ethnicity of bloc of voters will always be left-wing because their parents were. Just follow the back-and-forth evolution of black voters’ party affiliation in this country. Changes of that kind can sometimes happen in as little as a single generation.

But changes in our favor will never happen if we aren’t articulating our principles. Simply crowing about gay marriage and high taxes ain’t going to cut it.

Ah ok. I didn’t post to that thread because I didn’t watch the DNC.

Don’t care what you buy pal. You have your opinion and I have mine. Until a few million Americans get their collective heads out of their asses, we are toast. If the illegals get to vote, we don’t have a chance. You think what you might and I will do the same. End of discussion.

Yes, but my point is broader than that. I am tired of learning about Republican representatives whose staffs are full of guys that are more than willing to watch young women deploy to Iraq while they are in D.C. Were I a Congressman, I’d let it be known that any staffer in my office will be able to produce a DD214.
