Looks like I got out in time.
I was born and raised in California, but I had enough and left about seven years ago. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to live there again; at my age there isn’t enough time left for them to clean it up.
[I really don’t care much about California. ]
Except for now it is DC policy for responsible states to bailout irresponsible states.
I live in California and have watched it happen over the past 40+ years. What’s incredible is the complete and utter ineptitude of our national Republican ‘leadership’ and their failure to effectively bring attention to situations like California, Michigan, and the other liberal messes across the country. You don’t even need to argue theory, you can simply point to what has happened when liberalism goes unchecked. And no one on our side has the cubes to stand up and say it, fearful that they will alienate Mexicans or fruits or freeloaders.
The red state blue state standard only serves to divide and it’s mostly fantasy anyway. Michigan is a far more conservative state than many but after a decade or two of the GOP telling us to screw off, they can’t really expect anything different.
The truth is that the whole nation would be better off if Arnold and the liberal CA Democrats jacked up taxes and bankrupted the State of California. At least we would have a clear demonstration that liberal ideas don’t work.
it’s fine east of the mountains
With the caveat that California is the Democrats' leading vote fraud laboratory...to the point where it's not actually possible to say what percentage of voters actually cast ballots for which party, and how many actually got counted...
As long as the libs have their mouthpiece the MSM then most people will never know the truth until it is too late.
I remember back around 2002 or so, the ‘Rats in the state legislature would lock out the RINOs and the 2 or 3 real conservatives. Pelosi probably ponders those tactics employed by the whores back home.
Look, “””TAKES””” is what the GOV does. Deserves is what the soldiers, well deserve, but don’t get.
That English is not precise has been a bee in my bonnet for a long time.
Ask.
Wrong. As of yesterday it is officially over 10 percent. Which number includes yours truly as of a week ago. Downsized twice in thirteen months.
Last week’s headline “20% of Los Angelinos on Some Form of Welfare” our favorite sanctuary city.
I fled California 30 years ago. I have been back a few times for weddings, funerals, reunions, etc. (I still have some family and friends left there), but I would never live there again. Going there now is like going to another country. The English language is seldom heard in many parts of the state. The crime? Way beyond out of control. California is finished.
I really don’t understand the over-reliance on “industrial” or “manufacturing” workforce in articles like these. What they do not say is the huge growth in software and chip design related jobs in California. Perhaps these people don’t understand high tech...
The Golden State -- which a decade ago was the booming technology capital of the world -- has been done in by two decades of chronic overspending, overregulating and a hyperprogressive tax code
One might argue thats this is a politically biased assessment. So here are some facts, not assessments:
-- Californias state expenditures grew from $104 billion in 2003 to $145 billion in 2008.
-- California has the worst credit rating in the nation.
-- California has the fourth highest unemployment rate in the nation, 9.3 percent -- higher even than the car manufacturing state of Michigan.
-- California has the second highest home foreclosure rate.
-- Californias tax-paying middle class is leaving the state. Californias net loss last year in state-to-state migration exceeded every other state's. New York, another left-run state, was second.
-- Since 2000, Californias job growth rate -- which in the late 1970s was many times higher than the national average -- has lagged behind the national average by almost 20 percent.
-- California has lost 25 percent of its industrial work force since 2001. . . .
The left is bringing the greatest state to its knees.
Jack Cashill wrote a book about how the left destroyed California, “What’s the Matter with California?”
