Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh announced this week that hes toying with the idea of organizing a "womens summit" to find out why more women dont appreciate his patented point of view.
Limbaugh, who ruffled feathers recently when he said he hopes President Obama fails, was spurred by a Public Policy poll showing that only 37 percent of women compared to 56 percent of men have a favorable opinion of the shock jock. Thus, Limbaughs looking to close the gender gap.
Well have a summit of all the women in this audience or as many of them as we can get into breakout groups and perhaps devote an hour in an upcoming program to calls only from women who genuinely want to talk to me But I want some of these women to start telling me what it is I must do to close the gender gap or, if not, what it is I must do to close the gender gap, what it is Ive done that has caused the gender gap; assuming the gender gap is true and that the poll is true.
I own the men, and what must I do now to own women?
Well, Limbaugh, perhaps you could start wooing more women if you recant your oft-cited quote: "Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society."

Just pointing out that the “so called” feminist movement of the 1960s and 1970s didn’t get your wife the right to vote.
And in all this time, they still claim the same pay grade differences.
They revealed themselves to be frauds with their behavior towards Bubba Clinton.
Rush's egotism comes across as a humorous and inoffensive schtick. Just part of the show.
Contrast him with Bill O'Reilly. You just get the sense that O'Reilly is full of himself and how important it is what he thinks of whatever. He wears thin quickly (unless he's pulverizing the likes of Barney Frank). Plus, he's nowhere as talented as Rush at identifying and explaining and ridiculing the behavior and motivations of the libtards. Rush really knows how to scratch those itchy scabs until they bleed!
He would get more women to listen if their cell phones were a distribution channel. I notice some women like to hold their cell phones to their heads without talking to anyone, putting on a performance. I’m not sure if they are advertising they are well connected or if it’s a security measure so they don’t appear alone.
Amen...sorry to say!
Rush is a real man with a brain. And any man who loves a cat has to be a real teddy bear inside.
Agreed - the arrogance is his confidence and showmanship - and he has the intelligence to justify that confidence.
Rude - no - and in fact he has a habit of letting the left-wing-nut callers self destruct with their profanity and rudeness to him.
Condescending - no. I dont see that either.
Right, it must be that, or I would agree with you. Whether it’s meant to provoke thought, get his jabs in at all the women who rejected his big butt, or pretend it’s really the women and not him, no one can deny that Rush loves to get a chauvinist jab in when he can. He admits that. I can’t stand feminazis either, but Rush can be over the top at times. Some women get tired of it, and listen to him less often than the men who wouldn’t recognize a patronizing comment if it bit them. For some, it’s more fun to pretend women who don’t listen to Rush regularly are just too dumb to comprehend what he’s saying though. Insecure much? And, no I’m not ugly, so you don’t need to play that card. LOL
I’m betting Rush could give two cents about getting more women listeners. He already has all the smart conservative ones.
I’m also betting Rush doesn’t need any help getting companions either.
The renowned cartoonist Robert Crumb would agree with you one hundred percent. In one of his comics he devoted a a great part of it to his belief that the more obnoxious and cocky the male, the more women like him. As a self-confessed skinny, non-athletic, artistic, nerdish (but very desirous of women) artist, Crumb heaped scorn on many women who who claim to like kind, sensitive males, but pick the complete opposite when they have the opportunity. And when he became famous, women flocked to him. Crumb was no saint himself something to which he readily admitted in his work.
It seems to me you just want to find something to criticize him. I'll bet he is not using that prescription drug anymore.
I did not appreciate his condescending and rude remarks where he felt the thrill going up his leg when he was yammering on about Bobby Jindal, or Jangle, or Jingle whatever his name is.
He gets the same thrill up his leg when he yammers on about Tiger Woods. Several year ago, he spent 3 HOURS talking about Tiger and what a wonderful person he was.
I do have a brain, and he does not guide me. I can think for myself.
By and large, a conservative will harbor conservative thoughts, regardless of environment. I'm fond of saying that "I could be conservative in a vaccuum". In other words, if I'm in a room with 100 people, and 99 of them are flaming moonbat libs (and I couldn't just leave...) then I'm not going to change my opinions.
Rush reaches out to people in vaccuums - the people listening on headphones, on IPods, in cars on a commute.
Contrast that with Liberals. Liberals take shelter amongst the herd. I can't comment on the number of times I've heard (liberal) people at the office talk about Obama, his ideas, and how much they agree with him. They're looking for affirmation....it's just groupthink, at it's very finest.
Consequently, Obama looks his best in front of a big crowd of friendly people...all marching in the same direction, all thinking the same way.
You know they must never listen to Rush.
Reminds me of the people who insist that FOX News is extreme right wing - we wish - because their frame of reference is the rest of the media which is extreme left wing. Understandably, when compared to what they’ve been spoon fed for decades, moderate FOX sounds extreme.
Sheeple probably wouldn’t believe that a lot of people don’t listen to FOX anymore because it’s too moderate.
Very interesting. That's what made Bush look so great on this site. Not even his friendly fans were willing to tell him he was not going in the direction the voters wanted.
Laura Ingraham is my favorite. I like Rush, but don’t listen to him often as I mostly listen to XM and the AM signal is weak. Rush can come across arrogant, but he can also be insightful and bring a little humor to things. I am not crazy about Sean or Boortz though.
My husband, though conservative, generally doesn’t enjoy listening to talk radio.
I REALLY hope Mark Steyn gets a radio show. The man is hilarious and so intelligent. I know Laura and Rush have had him fill in for them, and he is excellent. He could easily become my favorite. I think he would bring a lot of people around. He doesn’t have the need to scream over people using talking points.
I still don't regret my vote for him, though. When I think of Kerry or Gore in charge....sends shivers up my spine.
'Bout the only thing worse than Kerry or Gore would be Biden. Good thing that Obama is young and healthy. Inasmuch as Obama is a terrible choice for president, Biden would be exponentially worse.
I good really give a good g-d about his drug habit; it was his constant fawning of George "miss-un-acompished" Bush, the "once an alcoholic always an alcoholic" who brought about the election of Barack Obama that turned me off to the "Al--dope-able little flub-ball!"
Actually the common refrain I hear from Obama supporters is just “things are going to get better, have faith, give him a chance, and contribute of yourself to the society”.
The caliber of guest hosts is sliding off from some years back.
Laura's the real deal...cancer survivor, Dartmouth grad, truth always! Rush can't hold a candle to her. But my favorite is G. Gordon Liddy followed by Bill Bennett. Laura's third. I'd rank Rush dead last...Savage makes more sense than him, so does Hannity and Beck!
