Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh announced this week that hes toying with the idea of organizing a "womens summit" to find out why more women dont appreciate his patented point of view.
Limbaugh, who ruffled feathers recently when he said he hopes President Obama fails, was spurred by a Public Policy poll showing that only 37 percent of women compared to 56 percent of men have a favorable opinion of the shock jock. Thus, Limbaughs looking to close the gender gap.
Well have a summit of all the women in this audience or as many of them as we can get into breakout groups and perhaps devote an hour in an upcoming program to calls only from women who genuinely want to talk to me But I want some of these women to start telling me what it is I must do to close the gender gap or, if not, what it is I must do to close the gender gap, what it is Ive done that has caused the gender gap; assuming the gender gap is true and that the poll is true.
I own the men, and what must I do now to own women?
Well, Limbaugh, perhaps you could start wooing more women if you recant your oft-cited quote: "Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society."

“Well...stop talking...”
Yeah, it would really make sense for a talk show host to stop talking. He could do a Hillary-style ‘listening tour.’
This is Rush playing on the Obama economics summit. He knows he won’t attract feminist-oriented women, and could care less. Intelligent, self-confident, conservative-oriented women tune in precisely to listen to Rush articulate the political/social issues of the day.
In his personal life, he attracts intelligent, physically attractive women as successful, wealthy men tend to do.
Oh, maybe it’s an act. 15 hours a week of act for so many years, I have to imagine the real Rush is in there soemwhere.
What about Savage? Do you think he’s a sweet little yes man outside the studio? :)
Yes, I love him on the air. And he is SMART. But I hear that in person, he can come accross as pompous and arrogant....conceited.
Amen to that!!!!!
Besides calling him a "shock jock", there is this:
As for men liking you, Rush you may want to organize another summit to find out why some think youre a fool. Take, for example, South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, a Republican who insists anyone who wants the president to fail like you said, Rush is an "idiot."Bitter shrews. They probably find the View biased because there is a conservative on the show.
Boy - that’s said like a TYPICAL woman. It’s not about how he says it - no, I don’t think I’d date him regardless of the big bucks and the Gulf Stream - but so many women get hung up on THAT and not what he’s SAYING! And they get distracted to their peril. Women get more of the bad effects of lousy economic times than do men because - a generalization, true - they end up HAVING to work if they have a family and STILL have all the child rearing, home concerns, etc to deal with. So women have even more of a vested interest in making sure conservative principles are inacted by the govt.
“;)
You must have em hanging off both arms.”
If only ;-).
I never had understood this phenomenon, but I’ve noticed it enough to know it’s true.
I don’t think Rush has a drug problem.
“I agree. Since the beginning of womens suffrage, how many Dems would have been elected if not for the womens vote? One? Two?”
Interesting. How many of them would have gotten elected without the liberal men’s vote? Yuu probably whine about women drivers too, even though insurance companies charge men higher rates for a reason. :)
Oh yeah - and Imus, that gorgeous hunk of man, had a hard time bagging his present wife - money talks, baby.
Party planner job description: "Party planners conceive, organize, and execute special affairs such as corporate receptions, weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, and bar and bat mitzvahs. They custom design an event to suit their customers' needs and budgets".
An ideal career for an attractive woman who wants to meet successful men.
If Keith Richards can get women, anything is possible.
Once an addict always an addict. He was addicted to oxycontin for quite a while.
I'm sorry but the comparisons that I have seen between conservative women and liberal women... I can see why Rush says this. Even the less attractive conservative women still have a look of class to them.
Women want men who “listen” to them. Rush’s disability make women see him as a less than desirable catch. For the record, my experience is that women listen to men, but then promptly either reject or forget the informational content of the discussion. Go ahead, wymyn, flame away.
Actually Laura Ingraham (NOT the same Laura as “Dr. Laura) took a mail caller to task repeatedly (and she liked the story he was telling) where every OTHER word was “y’know”.
I don’t know what the audience split is for Laura Ingraham. There are some other female conservative talkers.
It’d also be interesting to see the numbers on all talk radio, do women listen during the day?
Ultimately we should also ask “where do people listen”. At home? At the office? In the car?
How long do you typically tune in (a little bit, an hour or more, all 3 hours, only when something “big” happened last night/over the weekend)?
How frequently (Daily, weekly, occassionally)?
How many of the men who make of the greater number of Rush’s audience are listening at the office with headphones or a small set of speakers, or a bigger radio if you’re the boss, or in a delivery truck, etc. How many put on the radio at home? If you are off work for a single day (non-holiday) do you still tune in for all 3 hours of Rush’s show? Or are you “on vacation”?
How people listen may also be a factor.
You mean like Megan Fox?
I believe that Keith Richards is married and has been for more than 20 years.
Rush was ahead of the curve by some six months.
