WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Drunken drivers beware: If you drink and drive, especially during the last weekend of February, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and other area law enforcement will be out for blood.
PBSO deputies plan to set up driving under the influence checkpoints. If they suspect a driver is under the influence, they'll offer an on-the-spot Breathalyzer. If drivers refuse, deputies will ask to draw blood from their arms.

They should have done this at polling booths in WPB Florida in 2000....
Has Obama approved travel on his roads?
How much will they have to pay the first time the cops accidentaly give someone hepatitis C or HIV?
Or an air bubble in the blood stream. Instant heart attack.
Ping
Also sober drivers reaching for the cupholder, swerving to avoid a squirrel, etc.
Nothing. One of the best things about being a cop is that you never have to bear any reponsibility for your actions no matter what you do.
Officer at checkpoint: "How much have you had to drink tonight?"
Citizen: "I don't drink, sir."
Officer: "That's doubtful - I don't believe you. Just tell me how many?"
Citizen: "Look, I just got off work, I'm tired, and I just want to go home and sleep."
Officer: "Will you submit to a Breathalyzer?"
Citizen: "I already told you, I don't drink."
Officer: "Look, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. One last chance -- we can draw blood."
Citizen: "I didn't want to give a Breathalyzer, and now you want to draw blood? No way!"
Officer: "Okay, I gave you two chances, that's it. You are hereby charged with DUI."
Don't think this can't happen. Now, because he wasn't a "good little citizen," he's being charged with something (DUI) that's not even in line with what he's actually done (refused a Breathalyzer and blood test).
...What are they going to draw blood with, a bullet???
implied consent was created to deal with the fact that DUI cases are winnable.
Now a person can STILL refuse the blood draw and have a one year suspension, however they have to show the integrity of the testing equiptment.
Perhaps if officers were doing the stopps correctly they would not have to rig the rules.
FL is the state where the nations top DUI cop was removed from his job for lying under oath. (stopped another cop or politician)
DUI’s are a cash cow for the state.
No pleas allowed other than the mandatory minimums.
PB is trying to generate new taxation by turning their cops into highwaymen.
If using clean needles how would they do that?
(NOT that I agree with roadside blood sucking!)
Think of the possibilities - Check for alcohol (and any other unapproved substances) and get our mandatory lipid panel at the same time (the latter to measure the success of the fat food tax).
Don’t taze me bro!
Sooner or later, people will just start shooting cops and MADD mother "observers" at these unconstitutional checkpoints.
Same way people have contracted AIDS from “clean” hospital needles. Number one rule of any job: DON’T TRUST YOUR EQUIPMENT.
Care to provide some documentation for that claim cuz I’ll bet it is in the same category as infected needles in coin return slots.
BTW, your “Rule number one” is silly. Maybe you meant check or inspect your equipment but not trusting it is just silly.
