As has been pointed out in the hundred or so posts recommending this, the tea bags will just end up in the trash in the White House mailroom, never to be seen by anyone of influence. You can’t send any foodstuffs like this to the White House or any other federal government office.
Has any organization offered to collect, publicize and present this kind of protest?
not for nothing...the messiah would be the last person I would wanna teabag.
I’ve only seen the alternative ‘tea party’ protests, most acknowledge that mailing teabags is a waste.
How about we all send pictures of tea?
Ask Obama’s “body man”, Reggie Love about tea bags...
Not to mention the cost of mailing it.
Stamps go up 2 cents on my Birthday this year.
I have started putting a tea bag clip art image at the top of my faxes to my congressman and senators.
Also, pinning a teabag to your lapel or collar might be a good way to visually show solidarity.
How much do you want to bet that any teabags sent in will be sent to the FBI and treated as a threat?
Exactly, all the mail going to the federal offices are filtered, largely because of the an thrax scare after 911, it is better to send a tea bag to a local office, of your congress person... I think it would be seen there.. or perhaps not, as any one could feel the strange object in the envelope..and perhaps not open it..better to send a picture of a tea bag..
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Chicagoans who visited the auto show at McCormick Place over the past ten days might not have been in the market for cars but, hundreds snapped up special commemorative Barack Obama license plates.
At 50 dollars a pair, David Drucker with the secretary of state's office says a thousand Illinois drivers bought the temporary plates during the ten days of the auto show.
Drucker says, "This is what is called a special event plate which means that it's not a permanent license plate. Rather it's good for a 60-day period which will expire on April 17th."
The plates feature a large picture of President Obama and read Illinois salutes President Barack Obama.
After April 17th, the commemorative plates have to be removed and replaced with your regular license plates. They can be kept as keepsakes.
Revenue from the commemorative plates goes to the Illinois Library association's summer reading prorgam.
So instead of tea bagging my wife I should teabag NObama?
I am using the little paper/cardboard tag on my lapel—large enough to draw attention and to be understood—but not so large as to look ridiculous.
We all roll up in white vans with a banner that says "The Boston Harbor." When police come out to make their inquiries, we simply tell them we are returning the tea we dumped in the Boston Harbor.
You can send a tea bag via email. Just write “tea bag” in the email. It won’t have much effect either, but it will be seen by a Congressional staffer.
Members of Congress and the Senate prefer email rather than physical envelopes because of the anthrax scare. I personally think we should send emails that say something like, “I support the Chicago tea party: Kill the stimulus!,” something like that. As I just said, at least a staffer will read it. The trick here is to get enough people to send emails so that our senators/representatives know that a lot of people are unhappy with the “stimulus” bill.
It might work! On the other hand, the MSM might ignore it or report it as something done by right-wing extremists.
