Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana (whom, I'm proud to say, my kids think is friggin' boring), showed up at the Academy Awards tonight in a dress that looks like an artichoke.

My 12 YO daughter says Miley’s already played, only the “younger” kids like her now (boy howdy, that was fast!). But I saw a clip of her win some award awhile back and the first one she thanked was her “Lord and savior, Jesus Christ”, so she ain’t all bad, ya’ know!

My daughter was telling me a couple of hours ago (actually, she told her mother, but I was in the room — life as a Dad) about the dress. She couldn’t describe how bad it was.

Leave the kids alone. We have bigger fish to fry.

I think the dress looks more like scalloped oyster shells rather than an artichoke.

I thought cabbage, but my drink came out of my nose on that one! Artichoke is better!

I think the dress is pretty. I was expecting a Bjork style atrocity, with green satin petals or something. This is quite elegant and different. Appropriate for her age.
Better she should have been half naked??

I agree. Scalloped oyster shells it is. Artichokes? NO

And who really cares?
BTW, although it’s obviously over the top, I’ve seen a lot worse.
To: bloodmeridian
I think she looks very nice.

If it didn’t have the gray trim it would be better, but it’s a quite elegant antique-style looking gown. Sort of Gone with the Wind-ish.

I thought it had some class to it. It’s only problem: you look at the dress instead of the woman. In some cases that’s desired; not here.
