OBAMA BEATS JESUS IN HEROES POLL
Roman Around ^ | 21 Fberuary 2009 | Andrew Roman

Twenty-first Century America … where a man who associated with a known-terrorist, was mentored by a racist anti-American reverend, lied to the American people on numerous occasions about “earmarks” in the largest wasteful spending bill in all of human history, has done nothing but fear-monger Americans with falsehoods on the state of the economy, has suspended ongoing trials of known terrorists at Guantanamo Bay and has been President for a little less than five lousy weeks is polled as being more of a hero than Jesus, Ghandi, Ronald Reagan, Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln - that according to a new Harris Interactive Poll.

Ladies and Gentleman … Meet President Barack Obama – the greatest human being that has ever existed.

Allow me to summon some of that “courage” and dispel any misgivings about any “cowardice” I may be perceived as having, at least according to Attorney General Eric Holder (who called America a nation of cowards when it comes to matters of race).

How’s this for being brave - and let's see how much honesty liberals are willing to face …

Three words … because he’s black.

If this poll of “heroes” had anything to do with substance, President Obama would be among those tallying the poll, not topping it.

One thing that was surprising in the poll of over 2,600 Americans ...

Thankfully, true Christian faith is not measured by polls.

Amazing for a man who has not accomplished a thing in his life. How great it is to be worshipped, admired, fawned over, and idolized for NOTHING!

Heroic, not exactly. Fortunate, yes.

The only reason he is where he is is because he is black. He is the affirmative action POTUS. The requirements and standards were reduced to allow one of total inexperience to become POTUS. It is nothing more than racial gratuity born by weak white liberals.

A little tough love and a swift kick in the a$$ of some of these deadbeats who hang out on street corners selling drugs might go a long way in correct our dysfunctional and morally bankrupt society.....

Jesus is way above Hero in my book - almost demeaning!

I would have voted for George Washington as my hero. Then probably Reagan. Martin Luther King would rank up there as well, inspite of his politics.

Three words … because he’s black.

Bingo! I've been saying that all the time, first it was "affirmative action candidate" now it is "affirmative action president." I'm not afraid to say it either, that is the truth. I'm not picking on the Black race at all although I am dismayed many or most of them voted because of race, there are some out there who do go beyond that like Alan Keyes, Walter Williams and many others, but it shows that to many, perception is reality.

He is half-White, bu that is tossed under the bus. Some say his father is 3/4th's Arab, I don't know on that one, pictures I've seen, he looks Black but then again, genetics is a very inexact science. So no matter if Obama is 1/2 or 1/8th's Black, he "looks" Black and plays a lot in the minds of people who want to make history. Heck, if I didn't know his name and you showed me a picture, I would say "he is Black."

I have to be truthful with my thoughts here and say his race WAS and still IS a factor although what clinched it was his promise to hand out welfare and freebies to the "gimmee crowd" which is made up of all colors of the rainbow along with the young. As to the young, I know not all of them are this way, most I work with seem to have their heads on straight, but the majority out there who have had everything handed to them are the ones who gave us Obama as well.

I'll be 43 in July. I am a "child of the 1970's" and remember during that time where many Blacks said, "The Man is keeping them down," well, they cannot use that excuse anymore.

I know race should not be a factor here and my vote for McCain was not race based at all, but because Obama is a Marxist. If Obama was White and had the same beliefs, I would not vote for him. I know some say McCain wasn't the answer and I would have to agree on that point, but I figure at least we'd get "half a loaf" with him instead of the boatload of crap we would get with Obama.

Ever since last years election, I have gotten really brave and said what is on my mind even if it would offend many liberals.

The only thing this poll proves is the participants are brain dead losers. My garbageman is a bigger hero then Obama, just for picking up my garbage every week. Maybe the people thought the poll said zero instead of hero.

Read the article. There was no list of names from which to choose. When asked who your hero is, most people, of the top of their head, would say their father or mother. If naming famous person, the sitting President always has an advantage. Take the same poll and offer names - Jesus, Obama, Reagan, Lincoln, Washing, etc. from which you have to choose and I doubt Obama places in the top three. This is a non-story.

Respectfully, the idea of whether it is a "story" or not is certainly in the eye of the beholder, and I admit to seeing it as such - and an interesting one at that.

It's true that a list of names was not provided to those who were polled, but it is interesting to note that when those who were polled were asked who they admired enough to be a hero, only 8% said "father" (down 5% from 2001), and only 6% said "mother" (down 3% from 2001).

(To be fair, the percentage of those who chose a "public figure" as a hero did also go down in this poll from the 2001 poll - by 8%.)

To the best of my knowledge, this poll was an "off the top their head" poll.

It's sad that so few thought to choose "father" or "mother" off the top of their head when asked to choose without the benefit of a list.
