Good friend of mine in the Navy back in the late 1970’s was from Elkhart.
This doesn’t surprise me....(chuckle)
DId ANYONE in that “town hall” meeting ask Obama about the “new” energy policy that is sure to kill off the RV, Elkhart’s claim to fame?
Now really....anyone could have seen that coming!!! Sad part is....it is so true!!!
I am going to be kind and say that some of the people in Elkhart, Indiana are hurting and are looking at Obama as their savior. It is so, so sad.
It is a city that gets no attention unless a politician needs to keep their job or to take over someone else's.
If you will all remember, this is the city had the 10 commandments on city property until the ACLU sued them for the removal.
it is pretty incredible that the radio announcer here
seems to think that RV’s need to be towed....
ummm, hello ....RV’s a motorized and self contained vehicles.
Trailers are towed . Most folks seem to know the difference .
I only buy gas once a month for the motorhome. It has gone up $0.25 a gallon since my last fill-up.
I listened to all of the town hall meeting. I heard one elderly lady who bought into the Obama hype asking if the support check will be sent directly to Elkhart. I heard another Obama cool-aid drinker asking that HIS check be sent directly to his mailbox. There was a small business owner trying to cash in on the go green fad and an 8-year-old who was coached to ask what Obama will do to save schools. But I also heard a woman call him to task for nominating tax cheats for his cabinet.
So, even in this closely orchestrated and scripted event, there was still someone intelligent enough to work her way past the thought police and put a tough question the big O.
As for your inept assessment of the RV industry, perhaps you should go a little deeper than "I don't see as many RVs in my town, so the entire industry is dead." Higher gas prices actually brought an increase in RV sales, as camping is seen as a more affordable vacation method. Check it out, it's documented. The current economic downturn in the RV industry didn't become more than just a cyclical lull until the credit crisis started in October/November.
I have a feeling Elkhart would nominate Old Glory Radio as the dumbest radio show in American, if anyone had actually ever heard of it.
Elkhart is also the hub of the U.S. band instrument manufacturing base. What’s left of it...
Anyone have a firsthand update?
send these folks the golden shovel award
for being impressed by the opportunity to become trillion dollar government ditch diggers
Our dear leader glories in feeding on the troubles of the downtrodden.
Rush said today that Elkhart the center of RV manufacturing was devasated by the Democrats including Obama who have demonized RVs as gas guzzlers owned by evil, greedy families actually trying to take a vacation away from life’s troubles.
Now here comes the Messiah, just like the Mafia mob enforcers, who after getting a businessman hooked on gambling comes to his business to “save” him, by making the mobsters a “partner” in the business where they eventually bust out the business and leave the businessman to hang out to dry.
20 years ago Goshen was a lily white town, you would see plenty of Amish buggies and good old fashion food. Now you see taco joints, graffitti and low rider trucks.
If anyone wants to know why the unemployment rate in Elkhart is so high all they have to do is look at the influx of illegals.
