Obama opening floodgates by inviting Hamas to “migrate” to the U.S.A.?

On his first official day in the White House, President Barack Obama was on the horn to President Mahmoud Abbas.

“The spokesman for President Abbas revealed that Mr. Obama had told the Palestinian leader that their conversation was his first with a foreign statesman since taking office.” (TimesOnLine, Jan. 22, 2009).

Some thought that first call to the leader of the Palestinian authority was for spite. Others for statesman like reasons, still others for appeasement.

Given that a clip from Al-Jazeera televised Hamas-controlled Palestinians “burning up the phone bank from Gaza” to rally support for his presidential campaign, perhaps the telephone call was made out of gratitude.

Seven days later on January 27, President Obama signed Presidential Determination No. 2009-15, which allocates $20.3 million for Palestinian migration and refugee assistance.

Today a memo sent by President Obama to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton seems to invite Hamas to “migrate” into the United States of America.

Oh, don’t pick nits...you know what I mean. Is not migration and refugee assistance part of our immigration system? The bit we were offered by the author looks like $$$ assistance only, not bring refugees here as well. I wasn't trying to be nit-picky at all. Sorry. I don't think that act has anything to do at all with immigration. It's a piece of humanitarian legislation aimed at helping refugees relocate. I don't believe there is anything in it that makes it easier or harder for those refugees to relocate to the US than it would have been if they hadn't been refugees in the first place... other than the fact that they might be getting a $$$ handout like you said.

Another article on this:

[snip]The “presidential determination” which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States was signed on January 27 and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4.

President Obama’s decision, according to the Register, was necessitated by “the urgent refugee and migration needs” of the “victims.”

Few on Capital Hill took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006. I think she has misinterpreted what he did here. As best I can determine, the money is to be used for humanitarian aid in Gaza. Here is how it was divided up:

Some $13.5m. of the funds, which comes on top of $85m. in relief the US had already committed for 2009, will go primarily to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. Another $6m. will go to the International Committee of the Red Cross and $800,000 will be given to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

There is nothing in news reports indicating that the money will be used to resettle people in the U.S.

Thanks for that. That's what I thought. I prefer to make sure my outrage is justified. It does not appear to be so in this case.

Once again, I give a big fat bird flip off to those who called me a tin foil hat wearer when I said Obama was a “closet terrorist”.

Well, I don't recall if I ever responded so in one of your previous posts, but if I had, I apologise now.

Second thread, six more coming. The Memorandum is in post 71. It's a stretch to contend the money is being used to encourage immigration to the US. Paying peaceful palestinians to move isn't a bad idea.

How can this be allowed? HAMAS is listed with the Foreign Terrorist Tracking Task Force. How can monies, migration permits and aid be allowed like this?

O.M.G.

Just after the news that 80% of the crime is caused by gang members, many of whom are illegal.

I guess he just wants freaking chaos so he can get his brownshirt civilian force on the job.

The memo doesn't say 'to the USA', but the blogger said 'seems to'.

Psst - USA is an acronym for United States of America.

Agreed with you and Maggie. Hussein Barrack has been groomed for this abomination since day one. This is no surprise. Hey guess what folks? I work part time in animal medicine and today I learned that the water soluble terramycin (a chicken antibiotic) is used to combat anthrax. We are no longer able to get a certain brand of terramycin because it is all dedicated to people emergency. If you like keeping things like anthrax cures in your survival tool box, you can probably pick some up at a feed store near you (and pretty cheap). However, I think they are going to let go spanish flu because it is much more effective. Killed between 20-100 million people in the early 1900s. If I find a home remedy for influenza/spanish flu, I will be sure to post you.
