CHICAGO, IL -- The Springfield Nativity Scene Committee (SNSC), in conjunction with the Chicago-based Thomas More Society, announced the Nativity scene which made history as it stood in the Illinois state capitol building in Springfield was a total success and the group intends to make the project an annual affair.
The group also announced it has received inquiries for legal and logistical assistance from residents in Iowa and Wisconsin who would like to put up similar religious displays next Christmas season.
Things couldnt have gone better, said Dan Zanoza, Chairman of the SNSC. Thousands of people stopped to admire the manger scene and, quite honestly, thats why the Nativity scene was there.
The history-making Nativity scene was on exhibit in the state capitol from Dec. 2nd through Dec. 28th. It was the first such display in recorded state history.
