The "Z" is NOT for Zorro

The gruesome violence will not stop with the tolling of the New Year’s bells, nor will it stop at the U.S. border. Many have written about the nexus of crime and terrorism; the fact is that drug crime and terrorism, mixed in with a healthy dose of youth gangs lies in front of us. Ask local law enforcement officials, but don’t necessarily look for it to be reported in your local newspaper. You won’t find much either about the increase in home invasions.

Earlier this month, the former girlfriend of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, the Sinaloa cartel showed up dead, and with a “Z” carved on her body as a reminder from Los Zetas. This is no warning. It is, regrettably, a sign of things to come. It is reality.

The truth is that the Zetas, the narcos, the Federal Judicial Police, and the rest of the grimy thugs in Mexico are dimwitted punks.

They are no different then the much hyped "Immortals" of Saddam's Republican Guard. Remember them? The guys who were run down, run over, and then ran off in the face of U.S. Army and Marines? In like two weeks?

The existence of the narco armies in Mexico and their continued success depends on the fifth column in this country of Mexican seditionists, their sympathizers and enablers - the people who scream "racism!" at anyone who attempts to stop what is going on.

Make no mistake: the push of illegal aliens and drugs into this country are about one thing only - an attempt by the worst of the Mexican thugs to seize power in the U.S., the way they have in Mexico.

The U.S. could stop all of this tomorrow with ruthless, relentless force brought to bear against this trash.

But that would take the political courage and confidence that only the old America had.

Courage that may only be found again when the terrorism from these animals becomes all too common within our country.

Don't go there!
It's a bad place!

Legalize drugs—don’t try to control them—give them away free—whatever.....About 90% of this crime would cease almost immediately.

I used to be against this solution for the drug problem, but the more I think about it the less opposition I have to it.

Sure the number of addicts would increase, as would the myriad of problems associated with addiction, but at least it would be in a population that chose to use drugs.

At least at that point you would have only one bad guy to worry about, that being the drug user himself. Right now you have all the problems of addiction PLUS the huge costs of all the other things that go along with the war on drugs.

The law of unintended consequences would certainly raise its ugly head, like thousands of law enforcement people who’ve never done anything else but chase drug dealers. OTOH, you would have thousands of law enforcement people available to work on other criminal activities like gangs.

I, like you would have never considered saying this years ago. With each passing year, I become more convinced that we have spent enough in lives, money, and gang warfare to justify keeping on.

It would be much more cost efficient to set up clinics where idiots who want drugs can walk in off the street and get their fix.

I believe this is what they started doing in Denmark or one of the other Scandinavian countries a few years ago .

It might be interesting to see how it's working over there these days.
