The NYT is, in effect, saying that illegal immigrants, who have no loyalty to America, who overburden the medical, educational, and social services of every town they invade, who include criminals fleeing from the police (or sent here by the police), who are overrepresented in gangs, who are overrepresented in crimes committed here, who drive without a valid license, who are more likely to cause auto accidents, who take jobs away from US citizens, and who expect to be handed citizenship on a silver platter while legal immigrants have to spend thousands of dollars and wait from three to five years to become a citizen, should have the same rights as US citizens.

Is that wacked or not?

It mocked the American tradition of welcoming and assimilating immigrant workers.

We welcome immigrants who respsct the legal process and desire assimilation. Unfortunately those types are becoming increasingly rare.

How would the New York Times feel if someone started up a newspaper to compete with them that sold copies and advertising much cheaper and could do it because they didn't pay taxes, could just dump their ink, solvent and paper wastes anywhere they felt like and the government was giving them free newsprint?

To appease Republican nativists, it lavished scarce resources solely on hunting down and punishing illegal immigrants. Its campaign of raids, detentions and border fencing was a moral failure. Among other things, it terrorized and broke apart families and led to some gruesome deaths in shoddy prisons. It mocked the American tradition of welcoming and assimilating immigrant workers.

Enforcing the law = "appeasing the (evil) nativist Republicans. Assimilation? What assimilation? Press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish? To conduct this transaction in English, press 1 at the ATM? Tearing apart families? Who decided to come here in the first place?

Our emergency rooms close their doors, our resources are squandered on fighting gangs of thugs who came here illegally, murders, rape, auto accidents, drugs.... not all of these people are here to pick the tomatoes or the avaccados. Is this a nation, with borders, or is it not?

Imagine there’s no country.
Imagine there’s no heaven.
Imagine there’s no hell.
Imagine there’s no religion.
Imagine there’s no possessions.

What part of this agenda are we not understanding? Borders are meaningless to those who believe like this. Was John “Lenin” Lennon offed for revealing too much too soon? After all, he said he’s NOT THE ONLY ONE!

These folks at the NYT really need to get out more. The crimes, deaths and staggering loss of taxpayer monies to support these fence jumpers constitutes a clear and present danger to the legal American citizenry. The sheer number of illegal lawbreakers coming in to this country would be called an invasion by any right thinking American. Appeasing Republican nativists? The left just wants their lawns mowed and their meals served on time.

If everyone is the world has the same rights as American citizens then let’s go get those millions of North Koreans who are starving and dying out of bondage

Why would the NYT argue against that?

They used to have a word for this kind of talk. Sedition. Unfortunately our government overlords have found it expedient to ignore our national survival for short term political gain. They of course will be the first against the wall when the Marxist thugs and criminals gangs take power in whats left of the Late Great United States. True Americans will have to pick up the pieces in the aftermath of the civil war that is coming. Only a matter of time now. The Obamanation will be short lived and the price of Liberty will once again be paid in the blood of Patriots and Tyrants.

If you uphold workers’ rights, even for those here illegally, you uphold them for all working Americans. If you ignore and undercut the rights of illegal immigrants, you encourage the exploitation that erodes working conditions and job security everywhere.

By allowing millions of illegal aliens to enter the US job market, you undercut the earning potential of US citizens who compete for the lower paying jobs. You reduce the standard of living of the Americans who earn the least, and turn once attractive jobs in the construction industry into low paying jobs few Americans want in areas overrun by illegals.

And, nothing erodes the job security of US citizens more than allowing illegals into the job market.

It'd be a supreme challenge for anyone to work more nonsense and lies into a couple of sentences than this writer did above.

Right on target, Polarik!

The Slimes, like the bulk of the MSM, is spewing the same inane leftist garbage that was a major factor in the election of "Osama" Obama last month.

But they are even wackier than this editorial would indicate: their support of "rights" for illegal aliens extends all the way to a purported "right" of an illegal alien to hold the presidency, the Constitution be damned!
