That depends on who you’re buying them for, I just like something that fits in my back pocket comfortably.

Only what I need: military ID, DL, ATM card, AAA card, and a gift card for gas worth $20.

I keep this together with an alligator clip I took of a Hadji three years ago. He won’t need it anymore...

This is why I don’t ever buy Mr. Gun a wallet. Besides, I take all his money anyway....

Passing on the obvious opportunity to make a witty joke reference your question, nope won't go there, a bifold is the way to go. No trifold. Trifold is way too bulky.

Get the long kind, to hold dollars un-bent. Put it in your coat.

The folded type that men put in their back pockets have been shown to cause hip problems over many years of sitting awkwardly.

I don’t know how old your son is but when his wallet has a circular impression on it be sure not to notice.

Lyrics.

I’ve got a rubber in my wallet.
one of those little whatchamacallit’s.
i’m savin’ it for that special day.
when the right girl comes my way.
It leaves a circular impression
from all those years of compression.
i’ve had it since i turned thirteen.
i got it in a vend’n machine.
[chorus]
circ circ circular impression!
leading to a state of depression!
in my walla walla walla walla wallet!
i can’t wait to install it!
No! i can’t wait!

It’s in a little tinfoil packet.
sometimes i’m tempted to unwrap it.
it’s got a reinforced border.
i hope it’s still in working order.
“be prepared” they said in boy scouts.
i’m waiting for a chance to try it out.
i want to try this contraceptive.
but all the girls are unreceptive.
[chorus]
I’ve got a french safe in my pocket.
it’ll be the nose-cone on my rocket.
it comes direct from paris, france.
can’t wait to take it from my pants.
huhuh!
[chorus]

Simplicity and high quality are what appeal to me. The cheapies don’t wear well. And I definitely prefer bi-fold since they’re flatter in your pocket than tri-fold.

I think every guy is different, and realistically, the wallet you like is the one you’re used to. I have had bi-fold and tri-fold, and whatever I bought I eventually get used to, and that’s the one I think I like. :)

Been using tri-fold for years … serves the purpose. A place to keep all my “out-and-about” stuff like credit cards, drivers license etc. I keep all cash in my pocket not in my wallet. If I carried my cash in my wallet, I think I would want a single fold version.

I use bifolds with a central section that has a clear part for a photo ID. The majority of the pockets MUST be oriented toward the center fold to keep credit card and such things from falling out when I open it up. Also it must be as slim as possible so that means thinner high quality leather. When I find a place that sells them I usually buy 2 or 3 because they can be hard to find. I’m not that picky about what animal the leather comes from, but it must be all genuine leather of some type so it is comfortable to wear.

Nordstrom’s had some that looked just like wallets

I was just wondering what a wallet looks like if it doesn't look like a wallet.

I started out with bifolds but found the trifolds to be less bulky and I’ve used tri-folds for probably 25 years.

I don’t carry a wallet. I keep my stuff locked in the glove box of the truck. I keep money in my pocket where I can keep an eye on it.

OK, a serious answer: I use a trifold. My daughter gave me one many years ago, and I became so fond of it, that when it was lost, I replaced it with something that looked extremely similar. When it was found, a little too much worse for wear, I still kept it for the sake of the memories.

But no back pocket stuff for me, here in NY, you keep your wallet in a front pocket!
