SPRINGFIELD, IL -- According to a spokesman for Jesse White, the Illinois Secretary of State, a sign posted by the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), was stolen from the state Capitol building Rotunda sometime between 9:45 P.M. Monday and 7 A.M. Tuesday. The sign--which disparaged those who believe in religion or have personal faith--was placed in the Illinois Capitol building in reaction to a Nativity scene that was sponsored by the Springfield Nativity Scene Committee (SNSC) and donations from the public.
"It is truly unfortunate that someone decided to express their displeasure with the disturbing sign by stealing it," said Daniel Zanoza, Chairman of the SNSC. "Of course, our entire committee would encourage the return of the sign to its rightful owners. Judeo-Christian teachings ...

To flipp’n bad.
Aww, what a shame. /sarcasm
I will bet this theft was an inside job to give the ACLU justification for their future actions against Christmas.
Sounds like FFRF is sending a mixed message. Without God, who is to say what is right and wrong. Why not steal?
I don’t think they should ever have allowed the sign, because it was a bunch of words communicating a message.
If the athiests want to come up with a symbol of their belief in the non-supernatural, I think they should be allowed to display it when their non-religious holiday times come around, and if that is Christmas, that’s fine.
But unless they were letting the Christians put up signs that told people to repent or go to hell, they shouldn’t have allowed any signs, just symbols.
I wonder if the athiests are trying to say that Jesus didn’t exist. Because the manger depicts the birth of the boy Jesus, who later grew up to establish one of the most influential organizations in human history. Even if you refuse to believe in God, you can’t deny that there was a Jesus Christ, and that he made a profound difference in our world.
If we can have holidays for Christopher Columbus and Martin Luther King, we shouldn’t have a problem with celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. After all, I believe CC and MLK were both religious men.
Uh, don't they know that the ten commandments are prohibited? :-)
Look at who's quoting from the Ten Commandments now!
These people are pathetic.
