No.
Next question.
NO! Dammit no, no, a thousand times NO! Let this corrupt old bastard die in prison. Thanks to him and the unrelated scumbag Jack Ryan the Republican Party in IL went to hell, handing a US Senate seat to one Barack Obama.
No, and thanks for asking, Sen. Dirtbag.
FReepers, there are no people in the United States of America who want to see George Ryan behind bars as us Illinois Freepers.
The only flag we have to wave is the most corrupt state in the Union.
Dear Mr. Bush, my request would be to bring back the 6 dead children that burned alive because George Ryan was handing out Drivers Licences to people who could not drive.
Compean & Ramos should have been out long time ago. Lets get these guys home for Christmas. Contact President Bush and let him know you support the release/pardon of Compean and Ramos. Keep it nice folks, we are asking a favor. I know some will think it wont help, but there is strength in numbers.

Ryan’s wife, Lura Lynn, has twice personally appealed to Bush to grant a pardon before he leaves office, The Chicago Sun-Times reports, and one letter she wrote was put in the president’s hand “by a close friend,” whom she would not name.
<<<<
I wonder what “close personal friend” personally handed the President a handwritten letter from Lyin’ Ryan’s wife?
We Illinois freepers really need to pick up the pace and start writing rebuttals telling Bush NOT to pardon lyin’ George Ryan.
Maybe someone should remind GWB that Ryan did everything he could to embarrass and undermind Bush’s run for President when Ryan attacked the death penalty system and the liberal media had a field day comparing Ryan’s “compassion” to Bush executing record numbers of people in Texas.

I think he should serve his full sentence, and then some!
Corrupt Liberal RINO George Ryan destroyed the Republican label in the state. And people DIED because of his corruption.
I hope he dies behind bars where he belongs, his sentence was loo light.
If Bush lets him out it would be like an exclamation point on every wrong move he’s made. Inexcusable, there is no justification.
And despite Turban Durbin’s STRONG SUPPORT for this effort the media would proclaim “Corrupt Bush pardons fellow corrupt Republican” and it would be the GOP version of the Marc Rich pardon.
Here's how the media will spin this one. First they'll pretend Bush owes “favors” to Ryan. They will no doubt call socialist RINO George Ryan a “conservative Republican”, of course:

SHOCKER: BUSH FREES TOP GOP FELON!
Republican Governor advocated for President's Tax Cuts
Washington D.C. — In a move that shocked and outraged millions of Americans, outgoing President George W. Bush unleashed
a slew of last minute pardons of major GOP donors, none more outrageous that the freeing of former GOP heavyweight George
Homer Ryan, a conservative Bush ally in Illinois that had endorsed the President in 2000 and written an op-ed promoting the President's plan to cut taxes
for the richest one percent of Americans. Ryan and fellow Republican lobbyist Lawrence Warner were convicted of more than 20 counts
that includes such serious felonies as racketeering, bribery, extortion, money laundering and tax fraud. Obama administration officials say
they are reviewing the last minute pardons, but believe little can be done to reverse the process

RYAN PARDON “10 TIMES WORSE THAN MARC RICH”
“I am stunned” said Obama adviser and legal expert Leftist Douchebag “Clearly this is payback for Ryan's early endorsement of Bush when he was still
Governor. Even Marc Rich had never been so blatantly in the President's corner. This guy has a long association with Bush going back to his rise before the Presidency”.
Ryan, 74, had been active in Illinois GOP politics for more than 40 years, beginning with serving on the notorious corrupt Kankakee, Illinois County Board from 1968. The “two Georges” had meet a number of times when they served together as Republican governors, including partisan Republican Governors Conferences. What the two discussed at the time has never been disclosed. Back in Chicago, political watcher Biased Blowhard shock her in amazement “I think Bush did this a slap in the face to our new President” said Bloward. “In this historic time of change, Bush freed one of the Republican old guards that represented business as usual in Obama’s home state”, she noted. Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich had no comment, but a statement from his office read “The Governor regrets that the President took this opportunity to stand by a fellow Republican that represents everything that is wrong with the culture of our country”
FREED GEORGE RYAN “HUMBLED” BY PARDON
“I never thought I'd see the light of day again”, said the convicted Republican felon. “I am humbled and grateful to President Bush. He represents the kind of dignity, moderation, and compassion sorely lacking in today's Republican Party”. Ryan said he would be staying out of the spotlight and use the opportunity to home to Kankakee and spend time with his grandchildren. “I hope to put this whole incident behind me and work towards charitable causes” he concluded. Ryan maintained that he was innocent and would not pay back the money owed to the victims of his crimes. When asked why he would support such blatant criminal activity in the Republican Party, the former President had no comment, hold his hand up to reporters who tried to question him from his Texas ranch.
And after the hype dies down and the media can no longer beat up on Bush for “Republican corruption”, they'll go back to their love affair with ol’ Ryan....

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE NOMINEE RYAN BACK AT WORK
Speaks out against imperialist American capital punishment system in Venzulza
Caracas, Venezuela — Former U.S .Governor and Nobel Peace Prize nominee George H. Ryan never though he'd have a chance
to continue his efforts to reform the American criminal justice system — ever since late 2007 when he was silenced by critics and
charged with “crimes” he says he didn't commit. But now the Governor finds himself acquitted of all charges in the new America
that elected Barack Obama as its president, and he says he is eager to continue his cause.
Taking the stage to thunderous applause, Ryan, 75, shared the lecture with Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez. He beamed as he addressed
what experts see as the remaining flaws America can overcome during the Obama years — lingering racism, warmongers, poverty, and injustice
against minorities, the poor, and disabled. “Electing Obama was the first step in the right direction” said Ryan to cheers “But there is a long road head”
Ryan pointed out that America will remain a racist nation until all “political prisoners” are freed, challenging President Obama to free individuals such as Mumia Al-Jabar and John Walker Lingh, saying they had been targeted solely on the basis of race and religion. Lingh, in particular, had done nothing wrong besides be an
American of the Muslim faith, said Ryan. Pointing to his own one-year confident and subsequent pardon, Ryan said “And who would know better than I, what happens to people who dissent in George Bush's America?” Again, the crowd roared in approval.
After the rally, Ryan and wife Lura Lynn danced the tango in a colorful fiesta, where the couple dined on roasted shrimp with baby potatoes and sipped from among the most prized Latin American wine. Critics charged that Ryan was being paid upwards of $80,000 per speech, but Ryan brushed it off, saying he wasn't doing it for the money, but for justice “I wouldn't be taking this money if the government hadn't seized everything I had” decried Ryan to a reporter “I just thank God every day I've been able to recover”
THREE WEEK JOURNEY
Ryan's crusade against the racist capital punishment system is merely early on in a full schedule for the next month that will take him to such exotic places as Mexico, Peru, France, Russia, Spain, Cuba, Iran, Syria, and North Korea. Venezuela was his second appearance, after speaking two days earlier in Mexico in support of the insurgent opposition party PNR, who believes the boost from Ryan's speech may make them successful in next week's elections. On Tuesday he will be received by UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon for an sold-out address on international human rights, where he will again decry America's love affair with racist and talk about what America can do to correct its sins and make the nation “proud for people like our first Lady Michelle to live in”, says Ryan of his upcoming speech. Then it's on to Cuba for a brief Q&A session with the Cuba Communist Party (longtime friends of the Governor since his time in the Govenror’s mansion) before he moves on to Europe.
AMAZING TRANSFORMATION
Surprisingly, George Ryan is a conservative Republican. He said he has always remained so, but felt a need to speak out against Republican policies when he realized the millions of people that were being victimized by Republican rule. “I am lifelong Republican” said Ryan candidly “That's why I know we keep the kind of Republicans they're running today out of power” he admitted. Ryan says the Republican Party has been taken over by hate-mongers, a collection of homo-phobics, racists, and religious kooks “Today's Republican Party is indisgushable from the KKK and that's a fact” Ryan lamented. Ryan began to realize just how far gone the Republican Party was in 2000, when he put his now famous death penalty moratorium place. Ryan says evil forces within the Republican Party quickly moved to try and censor his message, even going as far as indicting the former Governor when he left office so they could prevent him from speaking out against the execution of innocent minorities. Ryan aide Martin Sheen added “They have no shame, do they?” It was only last minute pressure from then incoming President Obama that forced President Bush hand's. The potential embarrassment, led him to pardon the innocent Ryan before Bush could be caught him in his administration’s record on jailing political dissidents. Ryan says after all that, he forgives the former President. “He was a gun-touting bible thumbing bigot, first class — I have no doubt about that. But in the end he did the right thing. Now we just have to work towards fixing all the damage he inflicted on America. I hope God has mercy on his soul, even though he had no mercy on the souls he executed like those poor guys in Texas who were falsely accused of dragging a black guy”
But Ryan sees a silver lining in all this. Before leaving Venezuela, the courageous governor was awarded the Palm es Gracius award — a platinum chalice given to the highest pursuers of “social justice”, worth appox. $200,000 in U.S. dollars. “I promised Chavez no special favors for this” shrugged Ryan
That’s also the year I cast a vote for Democrat for Governor, too, in TN. The IL-born RINO Governor gave me the willies and I voted against him and for the iconoclastic perennial (and formerly serious) Dem reformer John Jay Hooker. I knew something was wrong when the regular Dems ignored Hooker (who was railing against the Dem business-as-usual practices in the state, forcing direct election for judges, etc.) and started hosting fundraisers for the RINO. Our boy Scumquist carried all but 2 rural Dem counties (Lake, in the NW corner, which went 2-to-1 for Hooker, and Van Buren, up on the Cumberland Plateau, that went for him by all of 5 votes — both counties would go for McCain this year, and Lake almost elected a Republican State Rep. for the first time since Reconstruction), and even my county of Davidson, Hooker’s home, now moonbat, went GOP, 58-40%, and Shelby, 61-38%.
I was too young to vote in 98, only 15. Unfortunately I would not have been savvy enough and would have voted for Ryan. I remember in school this black kid asked the teacher who he voted for and he said “reluctantly Poshard” and the kid (male) lamented “he’s against abortion!!”. Liberals were not happy and Ryan did very well in Cook county (but he didn’t win it like Jim Edgar did). It’s not unusual though as to Lincoln park voting for Ryan, Republicans carry it or come close when they win statewide.

Look at the disparity and ticket splitting in the in the Governor versus Senate race.
Mosley-Fraud was killed downstate losing even heavilly rat St. Clair county (east st. louis) and did 10 points better in Cook than Poshard. Poshard rolled in his own congressional district, currently it’s descendant is the most GOP in Illinois.
The rats think the end of straight ticket voting may have cost them both races.
Knowing what I know of course I would have voted for Poshard who ran to Ryan’s right on guns (but it would have been Lawrence Redmond of the Reform party if one of the other Democrats won the primary). Guns as opposed to gays (a pitiful minority even in the “boys town” hood) really helped Ryan in Cook.
One of the very few instances where I’d prefer the rat. Redistricting concerns would have given me pause though.
Shoulda told that Black kid that if he supports abortion, he should know Planned Barrenhood’s founder supported its usage to eventually eliminate Blacks and non-Caucasians and, indeed, those not of the above-average income class.
That’s exactly what they would do, talk out of both sides of their mouth. Ryan is a hero and patriot but Bush is scum for pardoning that corrupt GOP Hack.
I’m sure he was just repeating what his mother told him (unless he was worried he might get a girl pregnant). I wasn’t very savvy and I was reading Human Events and National Review. He probably knew jack squat. She probably had a tear in her eye as she tried to choose between the dirty Republican and the ‘hick’ democrat. Little did she know if she liked tax-payer funded abortions Ryan was her man.
Ryan makes Romney look like a paragon of veracity.
Oh, snap. I wouldn't go that far.
I say Romney is Ryan-lite!!!!!! Diet Ryan!
