I have heard of tough women before. And mean women. And women most men wouldn't dare cross. But to end the Somali Piracy industry . . . with a satellite phone? Now that is tough.
More . . .

Yeah, one woman, and a whole bunch of Al Shahab....
Better off with shooters.
All right. One girl and the entire CIA.
Um, good luck with that.
I’m astonished. I know Michelle Ballarin—have been to her house in Fauquier County. I would never, never have thought that this diminutive lady who wears Ferragamo shoes out in the country would be involved in something like this. Could not be more amazed.
The only way the MSM will run with this is if they can embarrass Bush with it.
Don’t let your dog crap in her yard.
The moral of the story is don’t hijack Saudi ships.
This woman’s company makes protective armor and no one has asked why she has such close relations with terrorists?
She’s an interesting person. She’s the daughter of a West Virginia used-car salesman and is a classic nouveau-riche. Ostentatious, pretentious, a snob, constantly throwing money around in an unsuccessful effort to impress, and what used to be called up tight. Not the sort of person you would ordinarily expect to be in a position of influence. But clearly she’s a smart cookie.
DO you know here as Michelle Ballarin or “Amira”?
I only know her as Michelle Ballarin. I haven’t talked to her in 2 years.
She can be charming. Good at schmoozing, high energy, forceful, and she knows everybody in DC.
I know her as Amira. She came through our office awhile back dangling a carrot and eventually the deal went sour somewhere (nothing caused by herself I don’t believe). Her name came up today at the office reminiscing. Never knew the Ballerin name until today so I googled it and low and behold, one of the only mentions on the web is on FR. Ironically, the link to the story is no longer good.
