Looks like 250 terrorists picked the wrong day to screw with 30 U.S. Marines in Afghanistan. Frankly, is there ever a good day to screw with the Marines?
In the city of Shewan, approximately 250 insurgents ambushed 30 Marines and paid a heavy price for it. . . .The day started out with a 10-kilometer patrol with elements mounted and dismounted, so by the time we got to Shewan, we were pretty beat, said a designated marksman who requested to remain unidentified. Our vehicles came under a barrage of enemy RPGs (rocket propelled grenades) and machine gun fire. One of our humvees was disabled from RPG fire, and the Marines inside dismounted and laid down suppression fire so they could evacuate a Marine who was knocked unconscious from the blast.

Thought they could whup up on 30 marines, eh? Guess they learnt their lesson gooood.
Those rat b@stards should never have attacked the Marines when the Marines had such an overwhelming advantage.
God Bless all of our armed forces!
Awesome!!
I hope that Corporal gets put in for a Silver Star.
The Marines and our men and women and uniform are so brave. They are amazing.

During the battle, the designated marksman single handedly thwarted a company-sized enemy RPG and machinegun ambush by reportedly killing 20 enemy fighters with his devastatingly accurate precision fire. He selflessly exposed himself time and again to intense enemy fire during a critical point in the eight-hour battle for Shewan in order to kill any enemy combatants who attempted to engage or maneuver on the Marines in the kill zone. What made his actions even more impressive was the fact that he didnt miss any shots, despite the enemies rounds impacting within a foot of his fighting position. I was in my own little world, the young corporal said. I wasnt even aware of a lot of the rounds impacting near my position, because I was concentrating so hard on making sure my rounds were on target. The most amazing thing about the battle: Not a single Marine was seriously hurt. Hoo-rah! ************************************
God bless these warriors.
And don't forget to thank them for their service when you see them.
I always do. And you'd be amazed at the number who are generally surprised to be thanked. That's a shame, as far as I see it. A thank-you should be the least that they can expect.
Hoo-rah!
Not to down play the heroic actions of our brave marines, but c'mon. Most of these jihadis have barely evolved to the point where they have opposable thumbs and a 350 cm³ brain size.
I should say that the results probably would have been the same if they'd been faced with civilized, advanced enemies as well.
They are clearly the finest warriors to ever walk the Earth.
I think you are playing down their heroic actions. Why don’t you head over and show them how it’s done?
You know the old saying, “F**k with the best, die like the rest!” Marine Law!!!
Touchy.
I should say that the results probably would have been the same if they'd been faced with civilized, advanced enemies as well.
Do you?
I hope those Marines get home safely, after they’ve sent their enemy to Allah.
as the father of a marine with 3 purple hearts.....u know not what you speak of.....
I would have loved to heard the reaction or seen the look of the townspeople’s faces afterwards.
pssst....over here
