Obama calls on his Internet campaign army to march again
WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama's 3 million campaign volunteers got re-enlistment notices this week.
Campaign manager David Plouffe, in a mass e-mail sent Wednesday to former workers, asked how much time they can spare for four missions integral to Obama's effort to transform his victory into a broader political movement.
The volunteers' options are, Plouffe wrote:
- Campaign for progressive state and local candidates
- Undertake grassroots local efforts to advance Obama's agenda
- Train others in Obama's organizing techniques
- Focus on local political issues.
"Obama's building a political machine," said Stephen Hess, a presidential scholar at the Brookings Institution, a center-left Washington research group . . .
What, you thought they were just going to stop? That they were just going to rest on their laurels?
As I have repeated 100 times, verbally and in print over the last couple of years, the left is waging total war on every front. They always will; it's what they do. They do it overseas and their adjuncts here do it here.
Unless conservatives start getting involved, not just at election time, but 24/7/365 . . .
Unless conservatives—epecially (though not limited to) wealthy conservatives—start opening up their wallets like the left's funders do . . .
Unless we start fighting they way they do—unremittingly, on every front . . .
. . . unless we do these things, we are in serious trouble. AnyStreet.org is doing its part, but we need your help!
So THAT’S where the Civilian Security Force is going to come from...
SHIRTS for sale...
Brown SHIRTS for sale!!!
Get ‘em NOW... Before it’s too late for you...
if we had built a conservative ‘army’ in the way Obama has, imagine the media bashing that would have occurred. If we had a candidate raise $650 million plus and forgo public financing, imagine the uproar.
This hypocritical aspect of the election bothers me more than anything. If they do it, they are lauded. If we do it, we are attacked.
“Campaign for progressive state...”
Enough said.
I’ve said for years that the Left is intent on subjugation of the US. They take a long view and will do anything, by any means necessary, to seize power. I saw in 1979 and it’s been one constant through the years.
The Chicago political machine comes to Washington. If successful you will never see someone outside the machine elected again. That’s the way it works in Chicago.
And, all children aged three and up will join Komsomols, er, I mean attend day care centers staffed by Obama volunteers.
Unfortunately the youth of today are a bunch of kool aid drinkers with little to no sense. But what is even more ridiculous is that Obama is just Clinton 2, choosing the same people that have not changed since they served under Clinton, this is just more of the same with a new name on the mast head.
Mind-boggling. America has just been taken over from the inside, in a bloodless coup undertaken and celebrated by the unwitting majority. Whodathunkit???
It will be interesting to see if you Yanks get to vote in 4 years time — or ever again.
Unbe-freaking-lievable.
Well, its up to the conservatives to use this a model ourselves.
If a technique works, mimic it and refine it. It worked for the ancient Romans and it will work with us.
And it all began with the grassroots community organization to ACORN to winning. It’s going to take some doing to turn this battleship around.
The MSM are his greatest allies. There’s just so much kool-aid to go around, and new batches (more powerful) are being formulated.
“President-elect Barack Obama’s 3 million campaign volunteers got re-enlistment notices this week”
...who is paying these ‘volunteers rent” and do these people have REAL jobs??????.....I don’t mean working at the government, a non-profit, or a law firm either........Honestly,I would love to volunteer but someone has to work to create wealth while paying taxes in order for subsidize the liberal utopian dreamscape........
And we’ve been funding it for years through funds directed by Congress to ACORN and such-like for “community services”.
Seriously!
It seems like we are very good at pointing out what they are doing, and then wringing our hands over it.
They aren’t doing anything illegal or immoral. They are trying to keep their people active and engaged. A far cry from what the right did after 2004, when most of our side decided to take the rest of the year off.
“Honestly,I would love to volunteer but someone has to work to create wealth while paying taxes in order for subsidize the liberal utopian dreamscape........”
I have news for you. Those people are not unemployed or just collecting gov’ment checks.
They just give a damn about their cause, and are willing to devote time to it.
It’s not good enough to just say that you are working and think that gives you bonus points or hope that someone else will take care of the political stuff.
Pocket sized booklets on what socialism and communism does to society must be printed and distributed to Jr. High and High School students. You've got to stand outside of the school gates and offer these free to students (without any coercion).
If people who still believe in the Constitution, the American heritage, a market economy, and so forth, don't begin education drives, the leftists will keep filling the vacuum.
Further, Biblicist Christian people have got to turn off the TV and Internet, get on their knees with their families and repent and pray for the deliverance of the nation, and then go out and practice personal Christian evangelism of their neighbors. If they don't, then Darwinian Humanism, the religion of the government schools will continue to fill that void.
Why don’t we eliminate nonprofit corporations in this country? That is what will save individual rights and freedom of speech.
We couldn’t have built a conservative army for two reasons.
1. You develop a political army around the personality of one candidate, i.e. A Cult of Personality. Think Hitler or Mussolini
2. Conservatives can’t agree on anything much less one candidate that they would all support unquestioningly.
