2008 BCS Bowl Projections
Fanblogs.com ^ | November 23, 2008 | Kevin Donahue

First and foremost, I need to offer up a confession. The last time I spit out my bowl game predictions - they stunk. Those things reeked worse than LSU's and Texas Tech's defense combined. Bad. Awful. Sorry, even.

But... the past is the past. THIS time, I think I got it right. (And I don't have any teams playing in more than one bowl!)

So... without further ado... my updated bowl game projections for games played through November 22, 2008.

Is that an optical illusion or are the Sooner linemen really all 6-7 and taller?

BU's linemen seem High School size.

Still have to wait until the end of the SEC championship and the Big 12 Championship. The BIG 10 needs to have a Chmapionship game instead of going to the Rose Bowl.

The ONLY thing I agree with Obama is that is college football needs a playoff system. I have been saying this for years. They can do it just like the NFL, and every other college football sport/ division. I really hate the BCS along with all the B.S. bowls.

Here's a shot almost straight down the line. There was probably some optical distortion in the first shot, but 79 for Oklahoma is nearly 6' 10" and 330+. That's Baylor they're playing and BU wasn't a bad team this year. Half the teams they played were in the top 25.

Over the last two years, I've done Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma, A&M, Oklahoma State, and several others, and I've never seen a college offensive line with the size OU has.

Where’s the barf alert for an Oregon State-Penn State rematch in the Rose Bowl?

Oregon State is total garbage with a fluke win over USC. They never do anything but get prison raped in out of conference games, but they get up for USC at home like they are a mid-major playing above their heads.

What a sorry excuse for a “major” college football program. It’d be like sending Baylor to the Rose Bowl.

I’m not a fan of USC, I’m a fan of not being bored during BCS bowl games. All OSU has to offer in a big game away from home is a bend over performance.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, while America sleeps:

WASHINGTON - U.S. President-elect Barack Obama said on Saturday that he was crafting an aggressive, two-year stimulus plan to revive the troubled economy, warning that swift action was needed to prevent a deep slump and a spiral of falling prices.

“If we don’t act swiftly and boldly, most experts now believe that we could lose millions of jobs next year,” Obama said in prepared remarks for the weekly Democratic radio and video address.

Is South Florida (6-4) on probation? They beat Kansas this year. They’ve got games left vs. UConn and WVU, both 7-3. Even at 6-6, I’d take them over La-Lafayette or Arkansas State — maybe Memphis or USM as well.

La-Lafayette (5-6) beating Middle Tennessee (5-6) for a berth to the Independence Bowl? They might be the committee’s favorite...MTSU did beat Maryland this year.

Bowling Green (5-6) did beat Pitt this year so if they beat Toledo (3-8), I’d give them the nod over some of the other 6-6 teams.
