Vanity - Help - Does anyone have a Verizon account?
Vanity | 11/21/2008 | Me

Posted on 11/21/2008 1:39:44 PM PST by Zeppelin

Ok, so here's my predicament:

My girlfriend sent a very important email requiring a response within 30 days, and that time period is almost up. She contacted the person who is supposed to be responding and they said they never received the email.

She looked in her records and she had accidentally sent it to xyz@vorizon.com, instead of vErizon.com

My first thought is that perhaps Verizon owns the vorizon.com domain for that very reason. I called technical support and they said that they don't think it autoforwards. Not a definite "no."

ANYWAY, the point of this is, if anyone out there has a personal verizon account and wouldnt mind letting me send them a test email to let me know if xyz@vorizon.com makes it to their email account, I would greatly appreciate that!

If you would, please private message me your verizon email address.

Thank you so much!

You caught me!

I laid in wait for over 4 years, posting comments and building a reputation as a conservative, plotting to someday post a stupid vanity about an email problem.

Good work team!

Don’t have a Verizon email account, so I can’t help you there.

However, as for Vorizon and Verizon being related, I typed in “www.vorizon.com” into my browser address window and look what came up:

http://www22.verizon.com/?OTC-Domains2008&cmpcat=Home&domain=www.vorizon.com

If she didn’t get a bounce, that message went to a real mailbox. Hopefully it went to an ‘alive’ but inactive account.

Thanks Captain Rhino.

yeah that was the first thing i tried, and it brought me to verizon.com, so i was optimistic. until the tech support told me “i dont think so.”

thanks for the heads-up though! :)

I asked and she said she didnt get a “message undeliverable,” as i get when i send stuff to bogus or closed accounts. Her not receiving that message was another reason that i was thinking it may have made it to the right place.

Is there some other way for her to contact the intended recipient to confirm or deny receipt?

BTW, I think all Verizon customer email accounts are “.net” and not “.com” addresses.

Too simple

I have Verizon. All I have to do is send myself an email addressed to Vorizon. It should either be delivered to me or bounce back to me as being undeliverable. So, I tried it, and it was not delivered, nor did it bounce back from Daemon. There must be a black hole someplace on the internet that swallows up Vorizon addressed emails.

I had a bill collector call me today about my unpaid Verizon bill. Funny thing is that I’ve never had a Verizon account or phone in any way shape or form.

The person at the other end of the line told me that they would have to record me as “unwilling to pay”.

This likely won’t help, but using an email for this purpose (”very important requiring a response within..”) is not an effective method. Most obviously, the recipient can say “I didn’t get it.” He can say that even if you address it properly. So your mission in this post is moot. You can’t prove it one way or the other, no matter whether he really got it or not.

If it’s important, needs to be legal, requires receipt and has a time limit, do certified mail. Maybe it’s not to late to re-do this one.

No, but I have what might be a zit forming on my forehead. It's quite annoying.

That was too funny! I hate those stupid people who get all carried away about trolls and vanity posts!

They can kiss my adorable little ass!
