MSM: We're not biased, but the perception of bias is a problem.

Newspapers are losing readers, some have gone out of business, the NY Times is essentially bankrupt, and the solons at the media are beginning to notice that one of their problems is that at least half the country hates them. They are the only major industry that actually insults its customers and asks them to pay for the pleasure.

Like the sclerotic leaders of the Soviet Union, some are beginning to pay heed, but they are still in denial. From Extreme Mortman: Tom Rosenstiel – “a former political reporter who directs the Project for Excellence in Journalism:” “The perception of liberal bias is a problem by itself for the news media. It’s not okay to dismiss it. Conservatives who think the press is deliberately trying to help Democrats are wrong. But conservatives are right that journalism has too many liberals and not enough conservatives. It’s inconceivable that that is irrelevant.”

How to respond to so much denial packed into so little space?

All of them. It’d be one hell of a long list.

My college shut down the journalism program a couple of years ago. The kids who went through that program were the biggest bunch of leftist flakes on campus. One of them would dye his hair a different color every day. Feminists, gay rights activists, and the rest of them just party hearty slackers.

What we need is a way to measure this bias. Then we can make money off it by getting contracts set up for it at Intrade.

I guess I had better throw that list of hysterical, foaming attacks on Sarah Palin that I compiled, because obviously I don't know what I'm reading....

My favorite part is the howler about how the media will oppose Obama once he is sworn in.

It's true! The media will oppose Obama once he is sworn in.

Well, they'll oppose Obama cleaning his private parts daily, anyway.

They'll draw straws to see who gets the honor of orally cleaning The One...

Thank God I ditched my cable TeeVee...
