I hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I like where my family is located for even a worst case scenario. I’m glad we do not live near any cities. We also have plenty of natural resources and because of the rural flavor of this town, most of us are armed to the teeth.

It's always good to have a fall back plan. Fortunately, me and my immediate family have a few places we can go if it comes to that.

I like free pie. I’m going to have some free pie in about 20 minutes.

I’d say let them have a big upside down U shape, the east and west coasts and across the north.

Just leave the rest of us alone.

Revolution, food riots, tax rebellion...

I can see the tax rebellion part as more people can't afford property taxes to pay for socialist indoctrination facilities (public schools). THIS issue will win us more GOP governorships than any other issue.

Food riots? Well, drive through knuckle dragger flyover country and understand how much arable land we have.

Revolution? I'd rather just succeed from the Union and form a new country that honors the original constitution (minus the slavery part).

Google food shortage and see that food riots occured around the world last year for reasons we are now not immune to, including lack of credit for farm inputs.

With the enforced use of corn and similar products to make ethanol because the Obamament will not allow us to drill here, drill now, the cost of food will rise astronomically. Corn will become car fuel and thus no more corn fed beef, chickens, hogs, corn flakes, corn syrup for sweetners, grits, hominy, corn bread and etc.........

Reality is about to test your theory. The money producing states have been hit hard. Tax revenues will be down at all levels, so they’ll be less for poor states. That is to say, states like NY, CA and CT will no longer be supporting states like Arkansas, Alabama and Mississippi.

>> Everything I read in this article is very possible though.

I take predictions of “revolution” no more seriously now than I did when they came from the wacko leftists after Bush’s election, or Ron Paul brigade more recently.

The extreme wing of the losing party almost always wishes they could forcefully overturn an election in which they performed poorly. They never do.

I know she buys gold coins as well, she travel around the country and buy’s it a coin shows etc. Now she is buying silver in bulk as well. _________________________- Please advise your friend that I'll trade her a bowl of rice in 2012 for 20 gold coins and if she wants meat I'll do 2 lbs for one gold brick.

That’s because the Left knows damned full well that they’d starve if it weren’t for the profit that our willingness to work creates. Without it, there’s nothing to tax.

It really torqed me the other night when I came to the realization that

if the left wanted to secede we’d gladly let them go and form their own little dystopia.

But if we wanted to escape their policies and live free of their control, they’d damn sure use deadly force to keep us from doing it.

Right. Another example:
If the Arabs disarmed, there would be peace in the Middle East. If Israel disarmed, there would be another Holocaust.

I want to believe that we’re on a better patch than this, but with what’s happening in the financial markets it looks like it’s coming down around our ears.

Those of us who believe in self reliance will have an opportunity to demonstrate why we have chosen this as our personal philosophy. I think most conservatives will do fine.

“buying bricks of gold”

"Huh??? I wasn’t aware you could possess bricks of gold."

I dare say possession isn't the problem.

It's the carrying them around when she's on the lamb from marauders that's going to kill that wonder girl.

Most of it is ordinary, off the shelf items.

Rice. Beans. Various kinds of Pasta Ronis. Egg Noodles. You know those packs you see of gravy mix? Brown Gravy, Turkey Gravy, Country Gravy, etc.

Powdered milk. Powdered mashed potatoes. Large containers of whole black pepper corns.

Beef bullion. Chicken bullion. Cans of stock.

Tomato paste. Tomato sauce. Various canned spaghetti sauces.

Corn starch. Oatmeal. Whole coffee beans. 20+ lbs of dried, powdered whole eggs. Whole honey. Sugar. Flour.

Large collection of canned veggies.

Just stuff!!

I'd note that about 500,000 of your fellow Kansans voted for Barrack Obama. What would you do with them? Or what about the 4.5 million or so Californians who voted GOP in this last election?

Maybe BO should start worrying about how he’s going to start “spreading the food around.”
