McCain didn’t want to win, and I think I understand why
How to Save the USA ^ | Jacob J Ordinaut

Posted on 11/06/2008 8:17:49 AM PST by JJOrdinaut

I have a full write up on my website but I want to throw it up for discussion here. Did McCain even want to win? I don't think so and I think I understand why.

I have no way of seeing into McCain’s heart, but I imagine that when Barack Obama officially won the Democratic nomination John McCain felt like the race was already over. It must be difficult to stand against the tide of a historic event and I think being the alternative to the first African American president was not something John McCain wanted to be.

There are several black people I would have loved to see in the highest office in this country. Condaleeza Rice is the first name that pops into my head. Have you ever read about her upbringing? In a very heartbreaking moment for me personally, former Pittsburgh Steeler Lynn Swan recently lost to our truly awful incumbent Governor Ed Rendell. The governorship of a state like Pennsylvania would have been an excellent spring board to the Presidency. My fantasy never-gunna-happen pick is Walter E. Williams.

My own children, like Barack Obama, will be biracial. Biracial people face unique challenges because it is difficult for them to be accepted by both races. I hope that Barack’s success will help to make things easier on biracial people.

While I’m happy to see the race barrier crossed in Presidential Politics, I can not help but be pessimistic about his potential to be a good president. My next article will focus on my reasons for this, though I'm sure most Free Republic readers are aware of them. In the meantime, I hope I’m wrong. I hope he surprises me.

In a few short months, we’ll find out.

You mean McCain surrendered the Presidency to the "historical event" of America voting in a Marxist-racist POS as President??

Go stick your "analysis" over at the BET '0bama-Is-God' blogs. You're a joke.

Someone who remembers who McCain was before this campaign.
I held my nose and voted for a man that I had asked to
leave the republican party. It amazed me that he got the
nonmination. I will put on my tin-foil and always believe
that forces unseen were behind even that.

I’m sorry, but your argument is just silly.

McCain, had No PIZAZZ, he was very blah, he lacked supper fighting energy, was too soft on the opposition, and his deliveries were non motivational. Palin was the opposite, as was Obama. Face it, Palin was the big draw to the McCain's rallies. “Nice guys finish last”, it definitely plays well in politics.

Did you actually read my post?

I didn’t suggest that this was a good thing.

It just seems to me like McCain ran out of steam after the primary and I think this is why.

"Rice is a bigger RINO than McCain. There are thousands of good, conservative black Americans out there. How many more sell outs like Rice and Obama do you think we need?"

Amen.

And wasn't it MLK who'd hoped to see "a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Oh nevermind...

I am not. I am disgusted and outraged that the "race barrier" even exists. I am outraged and disgusted that people, particularly those with dark skin, are still babbling about "race".

Content of their Character, anyone? Martin Luther King is spinning in his grave.

OBTW, the content of Hussein's character is summed up in his unholy love of killing babies. 0bama = Abortion.

That is the saddest thing about this entire mess. I would love to be relishing in the fact that this nation elected a black man. It’s past time. Past time for a woman and wht the hell, how about a Native American? Obama may turn out so bad, that another is never elected, no matter how good he is for the country. We’ve become ‘Tribal’, just the opposite of the Constitution’s intent. And it’s being done with the oldest tactic yet...divide and conquer. And the populace falls for it every time.

Nope. You may have, but I didn’t.

I didn’t vote in the primaries because by the time they came around in Idaho my choice was to confirm McCain or not vote. I didn’t vote because I wasn’t confirming McCain.

If it wasn’t for Palin I would have voted for some third party candidate or not voted.

Unfortunately I don’t think there was some kind of conspiracy. It was just a bizarre set of circumstances. It fell into two camps, McCain and anti-McCain, and the anti-McCain forces were split between Romney and Huckabee.

If you’re suggesting that I’m some kind of transparent fake Conservative Obama supporter I assure you that is not the case.

I was not a fan of John McCain but I not only voted for him but evangelized for him because I was and do remain terrified of what an Obama Presidency coupled with a Democrat controlled congress will do to this country.

Stop with the insults and try to add to the discussion, please.

What a load of crap. He is a Global Warming supporter and will go along with all the money that is about to be wasted trying to solve a non-issue; He is pro amnesty and anti fence; He was against offshore drilling until about 3 months ago, and he remains against drilling in ANWR; He voted in favor of the bailout; don't forget McCain-Feingold; I could go on and on. He was not going to be good for the country - other than he would have been a better option than Obama. Hence, he received 57 million votes, and most were cast for Sarah, not Johnnie.

He wasn’t my candidate in the primary either, but it didn’t matter. The Obama campaign was orchestrated, the McCain campaign was happenstance. We’re in for a bulletproof president for this term, so much that he’ll be elected for a second term. I’m convinced that we won’t have another election in this country after that.

McCain wanted to win, I agree. But there were certain lines he was unwilling to cross. For instance, McCain felt duty-bound to go back to Washington to work on the financial bailout. In hindsight that was a mistake. The public was broadly suspicious of the bailout plans — still are.

The mistake was not in going back to Washington, the mistake was not taking a leading and vocal role and not coming out and explaining to the people WHY he agreed with it. A leader has to lead.

"We’ve become ‘Tribal’, just the opposite of the Constitution’s intent. And it’s being done with the oldest tactic yet...divide and conquer. And the populace falls for it every time."

You are 110% correct AB...And hasn't all this clap-trap about celebrating "diversity" really been about an agenda to "divide and conquer"??

EVERY ethnicity and religion (except Euro-Christians) has been taught to celebrate rejecting 'Americanism' and our heritage and traditions as a nation to the degree of militant hatred.

What does 'Hate Crimes' legislation tell us? 'Affirmative Action'??

The Constitution is being scraped and subverted as though there is some underground, tacit 'OPERATION: Reparations' occurring. And this reparations movement is not only economic, cultural; It's as though EVERYTHING the flag and the Founders stood for is suddenly...WRONG and fundamentally "EVIL."

Welcome to the Era of the anti-Christ where "up is down," "out is in," and "dark is light." And yes, the Sheeple DO "fall for for it every time;" That's why they're called "Sheeple" ;-)

"We’re in for a bulletproof president for this term, so much that he’ll be elected for a second term."

Wrong in both cases IMO...

Firstly, Odinga Hussein's Marxist-terrorist-loving, America-hating background has not exactly endeared himself to millions of Americans.

Secondly, da peoples will expect instant miracles - which will be impossible to implement without destroying the economy.

Thirdly, this next four years will resemble Carter's recessive 1976-1980 debacle where people are rolling pennies, economic chaos calamities and reign, and our military is scrapped and embarrassed.

By 2012 the campaign slogan will be, "CHANGE-MY-@SS!"
