Tonight at 8 o'clock EST there are at least a gazillion things that you can be doing besides listening to another infomercial. Perhaps you might remember someone close to you and spend a little quality time reacquainting yourselves. Could be great fun.
Face it, just taking a half hour off is a present all unto itself.
Parents can take advantage of Obama's admonition to turn the kids' TVs off. I have socks to sort and some seriously neglected ass scratching to attend to.
The McCain camp has requested that people make phone calls during this time slot. I think it a strategic mistake to interrupt people when they can get a half hour break from Obie altogether.
So my advice to them is to leave people alone if only for a half hour so they can get their heads on straight before listening to you. They will be more receptive. And you can drive the message home.
I sure as hell won’t be watching.
A friend of mine just loaned me “We Were Soldiers” w/Mel Gibson. Said it was the BEST war movie ever! I’m psyched! If I didn’t have it I’d probably watch one of my “Andy Griffith” DVD’s. I have every one of them!
I heard it opens with a chorus of violins and a flock of American flags.
No, no, no!! Watch it on YouTube at 5:30/8:30 once it’s all over. That way the networks don’t get any nielsen spikes during that 1/2 hour.

I have already put up so many McCain/Palin campaign signs my fingers are blistered and sore.
Please, don't just sit inside tonight. Write a 'personal' note to a dozen or more neighbors... (it's OK to copy the same note)...
Put it on the doorsteps or mailbox of two dozen friends.
This is MUCH more effective than normal impersonal campaign literature.
If you neighbors see how passionate YOU are in support of McCain and in opposing Obama, YOUR NEIGHBORS will listen.
I am doing it. I've already done it, and believe me, it is VERY effective.
Some people are like sheep, just waiting for a good enough reason to support someone.
It is a great movie and Andy Griffith is my favorite too! They had a weekend blitz of all the Andy of Mayberry shows and I taped them for, like, two days. They are a crack up.
The only thing I ever enjoyed with (liberal) Andy Griffith was “A Face in the Crowd,” best political film ever made in the US.
I’m sure Sarah will heat things up a bit!
That’s the funniest thing ever,
yes I think we should all turn off the TV tonight
On another blog, someone said that Chris Matthews will be on all fours, licking the TV set during the speech.!!!
LOL...great image.
I’m going to finish an editorial to the local paper during the Odumbo blabfest, entitled: “An Open Letter to Barack Hussein Obama: Why I am not voting for you on Nov.4th”. It’s half done.
I can’t look at the NOT anymore. I can’t listen to his voice. He makes me physically ill.
Yes, induced labor 'abortion' is actually nothing more than murder of alive newborn struggling children, euphemistically called 'abortion'. ... I suppose using such deceit as that used by Obama, the recently arrested morons threatening to kill Obama were threatening a very late term 'abortion'.
As you look at the little Marxist squirrel pretending to be a man in full, just realize he is a defender of murdering the most helpless struggling infant just froced to be born very prematurely ... and Jill Stanek tells us soem of these struggling little ones take hours to finally die alone, unattended. Such a nice man, Barack Hussein Obama! Defends murdering via neglect. Nice demonspawn that.
The great 0bama has commanded me to watch. I must obey!
“...some seriously neglected ass scratching to attend to. “
LOL! I love it! When my Dad was still alive, and he would get angry, he would tell people to, “Go scratch your ass!” Just thinking of that old coot in his gravely, ticked off voice saying that cracks me up. Dad would have liked this. LOL! Thanks for the smile and the memory! Yes, “some seriously neglected ass scratching to attend to” would definately come before watching the loser Zero.
Can’t even stand to watch Andy and Opie now that they’re shilling for 0bama.
“Cant even stand to watch Andy and Opie now that theyre shilling for 0bama”.
...good point. But back in 1961 that wasn’t the case.
Besides, I have Fallout 3 for the Xbox 360 so I'll be knee-deep in post-apocalyptic D.C. stomping bad guys and mutants!
Say it isn’t so....not Andy and Opie, too, drinking the Koolaid.
And I always thought they had good ole common sense.
