After seesawing between 3.2 and 3.9 points over the weekend, Obama's lead slipped to 2.8 Monday. Battleground also has Obama up 3, and other polls have tightened, including Rasmussen, Zogby and Gallup to 5. Some polls show swings in independents, but IBD/TIPP has them in a stable, 5-point range.

Catholic voters have correctly voted for the eventual U.S. Presidential winner in every election and currently the Catholic vote is evenly split at 44% to 44%, with approx. 13% undecided.
Consider that Obama will have raised a staggering $850 million in campaign cash and conservatively holds a 5 to 1 advantage (documented) in favorable (biased) press coverage, easily worth an additional $850 million in free "publicity".
Overall, the Obama campaign holds a 10 to 1 Cash+Media advantage over the McCain campaign......and this race is essentially tied.
Maybe it's true what they say: Let's hope the White House isn't up for sale. You know that if the McCain campaign had raised $850 million to Obama's $67 million in public financing (which is the total amount McCain has actually received), the main stream press would be screaming about Republicans buying the election and corrupting the political process, blah, blah, blah.
Don't beleive the main stream media polls. If Obama believed the polls that show him ahead by 11% in the state of Pennsylvania, a state that has never voted for a Republican president, why is he furiously campaigning across the state with only 6 days remaining in this race. Shouldn't he be in Florida or North Carolina or Indiana or Ohio, the "really close" battleground states? Maybe Obama himself knows the main stream media polls don't actually reflect reality?
Adding intrique to this proven, respected poll are these three key elements: 1) A main stream media "voter backlash" (Media Effect) over the perception of unfair media bias towards McCain & the first ever female Vice Presidential candidate, 2) The "Bradley Effect" that occurs when white voters lie to pollsters about their true voting preference for fear of being labled a "racist" for not supporting the minority candidate, and 3) the historical fact that undecided voters normally favor the more proven, experienced, "traditional", "mainstream", "center-right", candidate over lesser known, less experienced, more liberal
2.8% = ALL TIED UP. 6 days to go. Might it already be over for The Chosen One?
Yesterdays poll.
And your point is? Are you suggesting that polling is “pure science”, and Monday polls have less credibility than Tuesday polls? I didn’t get the memo.
Thanks so much for the clarification - sorry about that!
“And your point is?”
I am not sure. I keep seeing people like him say stuff like that. Yet polls are generally a day old. Maybe a troll? Don’t know.
My point is...its yesterdays poll. Nothing more, nothing less.
“My point is...its yesterdays poll.”
It is the latest poll that IBD TIPP has, so until they release another poll, it is today’s news.
Thank you for the assist!
Thank you for the assist!
More evidence to support my thesis!
PRINCETON, NJ — The gap between Barack Obama and John McCain in Gallup Poll Daily tracking from Saturday through Monday has narrowed slightly, and Obama is now at 49% of the vote to 47% for McCain among likely voters using Gallup’s traditional model.......
*snif*snif* do I smell ozone...
According to their pollster (appearing on FNC earlier), it’s up to 4% today.
What do you think he’s going to say in his 1/2 hour informercial? It seems to me he can only screw things up..why, if he were so convinced he’s going to win? Do this now? Also, does he really think most Americans want o hear from any more platitudes from either of these guys. We’ve been hearing it for over two years. It’s totally perplexing to me. Or does he have so much money, he just wants to spend it?
I can’t fathom that the Catholic vote is evenly split. Obama is the antithesis of some of the most fundamental Catholic tenets, most of all abortion. It’s obviously is not a poll of practicing Catholics, at least I hope so.
“According to their pollster (appearing on FNC earlier), its up to 4% today.”
I don’t watch it on television. I go to front page their website:
Yes, it’s 4% on your site...so I gave you the preview earlier...
bmflr
“Yes, its 4% on your site...so I gave you the preview earlier...”
Yes it is now but wasn’t earlier (when this thread was started). I checked it first.
I know that...was just giving you a heads up...unless you don’t trust what their pollster said on TV...
