Sorry, but in my neighborhood a McCain sign equals smashed windows and or a bonfire on the lawn. A McCain bumper sticker equals slashed tires. It happened in the ‘04 elections and nobody around here wants to go through that again.
Personally, I’d rather send my money to the groups that can use it to do some real good than paying a repair bill or higher insurance rates.
I do suggest people in cities lobby for increased police presence with national guard at the ready, on Nov. 4 night.
Also, responsible self protection.
More like we don't want to be beaten to death by an insensate crowd of Obamabots.
I’m voting for Palin too.
in Los Angeles, I am seeing more obama stickers than mccain stickers. however, there is a larger percentage of NO STICKERS as well....
people are surprisingly silent here. Carville claims there will be nationwide riots if obama loses.
During the Pennsylvania primary, a few months ago, Obama signs outnumbered Clinton signs at least 5 to 1 in the city.
Yet the results overall in the City of Pittsburgh were much closer, Obama lost some very democrat wards by 3-1 and 4-1 margins.
I have a feeling that Obama isn’t going to come out of the City with anywhere near the margin that Mr. Kerry did in 04.
I see a lot of that too. People who support Obama talk boisterously about their support. From what I have seen and experienced, especially at work (and I work in a Christian organization) McCain-Palin supporters have their political discussions in hushed tones. I wish it wasn’t the case but that’s what I am experiencing.
You are right, but something hit me today...
A great guy locally is running or judge. He and his dad were pouring coffee at a local breakfst resturant today. Yes he is a conservative Republican. Then it hit me, I see tons of his signs on folks lawns, but not for McCain
The Obamaites (the surface ones) are to stupid to realize that people are saying it without broadcasting it.
And this is Michigan...
I do think there has become a “McCain Underground”
McCain supporters are staying quiet, they tell their friends nothing or come up with the automated fish eye look and say they support Obama Hussein, then when they get home and in private and feel relatively safe they blog or get in touch with known supporters.
Its possible we have hidden cells all across the country, average Joe and Janes and they are waiting patiently, they see the thugs, they see McCain signs burned, they hear of friends losing a job for voicing against Obama, they tell pollsters what they want to hear for fear of reprisal.
This is America, when things get tough we get tougher, its our nature. We have never lost when we are united, and United We Stand.
I work in Hollywood so I don't have to picture it, I'm livin' it every day.
There are actually a couple of conservatives where I work, but they're quiet about it. And they're all blue collar, below the line folks. Guards, secretaries, clerical workers, etc. The overwhelming majority of my colleagues are big lefties and Obama cultists. I make no secret of my own views but when I express them they look at me like I just dropped in from Mars. I think they literally have never been exposed to these arguments before in their lives.
My wife and I wear our McCain/Palin T-shirts (Navy blue for me, pink “read my lipstick” for her) just about everywhere we go, including our workouts at the Jewish Community Center, where we both receive many more compliments than I would have expected.
The same thing happens in stores, at gas stations, and just out on the street, so I refuse to be discouraged.
bttt
Sadly yes. I have friends who tell me all the time that, “you can’t say that”. I always ask them why not and their response is always something to the effect of well you just can’t not in public. To which I say if it is my honest opinion then why can’t I express it. Their answer is well maybe here in your house, but not out in public around other people. These are people who would never tell anyone at work they wouldn’t vote for Bambi, but in the privacy of my FR amongst friends they trust they will tell you they could never vote for him.
Anecdotal yes, significant maybe. The question is when does this self-imposed censorship become acceptable thought. When you can’t have an honest if not PC opinion in public, how soon before you just start excepting the unexceptable
You live in TN. Here in NJ, McCain/Palin supporters are like a secret society. I can tell you the handshake (if I can trust you). ;-)
I have lost 3 close friends because of 0bama. They became to hyper-committed to his cult they would not give me rest in their efforts to convert me.
I won’t miss them. It is times such as these one learns who their friends are.
I’m voting for the future of all the Trigg Palins out there. We could be closer to forced abortions than anyone dares think.
Ultimately, it’s a birds of a feather thing. Parishoners will tend to have values similar to their priest. If not, they usually find a different church where they fit in better.
You wouldn’t be near Grand Ledge, would you. Great breakfast place there. Ate there once and James Earl Jones was having breakfast. Guess that’s his home town.
I’m remembering a recent article about McCain/Palin signs that were slit into shreds with box cutters in a town outside Philidelphia on the morning before Obama was to have a rally in Pennsylvania later in the day.
It was a neighborhood with many elderly residents. One of them, and elderly lady, said someone stomped their foot against her door and shouted, “OBAMA!!!” in the early morning hours. She found the vandalized McCain/Palin sign later.
This was reportedly a co-ordinated effort that occurred in every county in Pennsylvania that morning.
I thought about the video of the young men performing their drill in their camo pants who were so “inspired” by Obama.
It seems some were inspired to less noble and honorable pursuits for Obama.
I told the office I’m working for the McCain campaign...the brownshirts went to the boss and told him to keep my mouth shut...then they find he is a huge McCain supporter...HA HA
The most eye-popping thing about that thread at Foxnews is the comments of the Barakolytes. Man, are they are an angry bunch:
“Some man of God you are a racist in a dog collar. When my man wins, watch those tax deduction contributions you conservative preachers ring out of the gulible. Were going to change that. In future your not going to be in your pulpit preaching for morons like President Chimpy and geting tax freed donations to spread your racist filth.
Say your prayers preacher man! Your going to need all the help you can find.
P.S. And stop pretending Jesus was a white man when the bible says he was burnished black.”
When this election doesn’t go the way the MSM and polls have led them to believe, it’s going to get really ugly. Florida in 2000 won’t hold a candle to the anger that’s going to be pouring onto the streets.
Fortunately, if history is any guide, they will only burn their own neighbourhoods!
