An American Carol was certainly produced for the amusement of people with conservative political leanings. To deny that would be silly. And it certainly succeeds at that particular mission. If you can keep from laughing when terrorists in Afghanistan truck in a bunch of sombrero-wearing Mexicans to do jobs the Taliban wont do, youre either missing your funny bone or you listen to NPR a lot.
The same goes for a cabal of college professors breaking into a musical number titled 1968, in which they taunt horrified parents about how they intend to reward their hard-earned tuition dollars with four years of political indoctrination.
The laugh-out-loud moments come fast and furious during the films first half. Sometimes they are uproarious, like when a group of undead zombies tries to take over a New York courtroom on behalf of the ACLU. Sometimes they are subtle, like when the main character, left-wing filmmaker Michael Malone, loses control of a Twinkie only to retrieve it the following morning when he finds it stuck to his giant flat-screen TV.

I went to see the movie last weekend and it was great. I was extremely disappointed that it didn’t do as well as it should have in sales last weekend. With both Rush and Hannity pushing it (and it being very funny) I would think more conservatives and Freepers would get off their butts and go see it. Wouldn’t we like to see future movies with a conservative bent? GO SEE IT BEFORE IT’S GONE!!!!
I’ve got to find new film sites to go to, every one I normally visit just tear this movie to shreds and dump on it without having seen it at all.
Any good suggestions for decent film sites? I know there’s Dirty Harry’s Place. Any others?
Will be going this weekend.
I, on the other hand, found it very entertaining. It is the type of movie I go to when a laugh is all that is required to make my day.
I don't go to the movies for a history lesson which is why I don't plan on seeing "W". When a History lesson is desired, I read a book. For News I watch FOX and use the Internet.
An American Carol was satire mixed with slapstick.
Oliver Stone's movies are just plain propaganda. If propaganda is desired instead of News, I would be watching MSNBC.
I saw this movie AND will go see it again! I could not stop laughing OUT LOUD!!

They may be going under.
Just ask freepers, they will never steer you wrong.
I will buy it when it’s out on DVD
*chuckle*
