Candygram for Sarah!
That supersized box of chocolates oh, and roses, too? in Governor Palins dressing room just arrived courtesy of Gwen Ifill.
What book on Obama?
Because the great whooshing sound you heard was the air being sucked out of any other issue in the presidential race by the supernova that is the GOP veep nominee.
As the First Hockey Mom might have put it, didya notice the helpless grin that kept appearing on Joe Bidens face?
Hmmm. Id seen that telltale look before. Oh, yeah. 1984. When Fritz Mondale was watching his presidential ambitions being knocked out of the park by the Gippers riff that he wouldnt exploit the youth and inexperience of my opponent.
And just as was the case 24 years back, you could read the body language in the reluctant but appreciative chuckle.
Im sunk.
The previous weeks Obama-McCain debate, though admirable in its depth and informative nature, was an Olympic boxing match an elegant affair where the protagonists are cocooned in headgear and a touch counts as much as a roundhouse right.

And yet the brainwashed Obamanoids told the pollsters the Obiden won the debate. A mind is a terrible thing to waste so most people living in this country are taking theirs out and playing with them.

Although I wish it were true that Palin knocked the stuffing out of Biden, I’m afraid it isn’t true. She did OK in terms of not embarassing herself, but Biden did OK too. And unfortunately, Palin tended to confirm the doubts of many (including many Republicans) that she isn’t up to speed intellectually to be the Veep. Maybe in a few years’ time, but not yet. Sorry to have to say this!
JOE BIDEN, MASTER of FOREIGN POLICY:
‘Hamas won the West Bank elections’
‘We kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon’
‘The BOSNIAKS ...’
PLUS MORE THAN A DOZEN WILD UNTRUTHS ....
You should be. You were watching Saturday Night Live. I was watching the debate. Sarah won.
It wasn’t even close. Senator Biden spent most of the evening looking as if his shorts were too tight and wishing he were somewhere else. Soon after the debate started, their facial expressions and body language demonstrated what both Senator Biden and Governor Palin knew: He was being roasted on a spit with no way to wriggle off.
Oh please, you watched a different debate than I did. You probably would have felt more positive if she sneered and lied her way through the debate. She was a little off for the first 15 minutes or so. But once she got into stride she left Biden no where to go but senate yeas and nays.
He looked like he was dealing with a wedgie all night.
And if you really have that opinion about Gov. Palin then what is it about Onada you find so redeeming?
"I wont say this publicly because I desperately want McCain/Palin to win. But Sarah did not win that debate, her lack of knowledge was stunning. Biden boldly lied so many times I lost count, but Palin didnt have the political knowledge to take him to task on those lies. She took his lies to task only once, (the dirty coal thing), but otherwise she looked for all the world like a person totally out of Joe Bidens league; and thats a real problem because Biden is a weasly Democrat lightweight. Joe Biden felt completely comfortable with outrageous spins and lies, non-stop througout the debate, because he knew Sarah has a lack Washington politics/international accumen. I still think McCain has a chance to pull this out, but hed better get to attacking Obama very soon, link him with Ayers, rev Wright, Fannie Mae, the puke from Syria who helped him buy his mansion, and the rest of it. Otherwise its over."
Some people are clueless...or they're trolls. I'm beginning to believe the latter. And, no, it's unworthy of a reply.
"Some people are clueless...or they're trolls. I'm beginning to believe the latter."
Yep! August 25, 2008 start date. I smelled him out fer sure. Private mail to follow...
Exactly, bcsco.
In his private email to you, this non-posting chicken shows how clueless he is in the nature of inside hardball politics and the strategeries employed by smart debaters.
Joe Bidet tried to trap Sarah into replying to every one of the scores of lies he was shooting out rapid fire like pellets from a pea shooter.
She didn't fall into that trap at all. In the first place, viewers eyes were glazing over from Joe's attack list. One informal debating rule is "lists are your enemy".
Second, when time is a limitation, you extol your own virtues and get the occasional but regular rapier thrusts right into your opponent's liver. Palin did this perfectly.
Third, Joe came off rehearsed with all his talking points, Sarah disarmed him by not employing issue-wonk answers.....just good ole fly-over-country remarks directed at the viewers, not Bidet.
Conservatives are good conservatives when it comes to ideology, but sometimes are woefully lacking in big-league political strategery techniques.
Thanks for posting the email so the sender perhaps will now be able to see the debate in a different light.
Leni
Anyone here who says Palin did not cream Biden in that debate is a poser conservative. There are some things that are too close to call but not that debate. It was hands down a Palin win. Only a dem would deny the obvious.
Right on.
> Anyone here who says Palin did not cream Biden in that debate is a poser conservative.
Not so, mate — not so! They are either trolls or they are deaf in one ear, can’t hear out the other and they have their eyes painted on.
> There are some things that are too close to call but not that debate. It was hands down a Palin win. Only a dem would deny the obvious.
If it had been a street fight, Biden would have been bleeding to death in a ditch in the moonlight. Palin would be folding up her switch blade, putting it back into her purse, fixing her hair, slipping back into her heels and disappearing into the night before the cops show up.
Sarah is awesome in every respect.
The mail contained nothing of a personal nature which one may well want to keep private. I’d certainly agree and not post such information.
But this wasn’t that sort of email. It was strictly one’s opinion; an opinion the writer knew wouldn’t be received well by many on this forum. And that just didn’t meet the smell test with me.
You’ll see be a later post to myself that I did indeed discover an August 25, 2008 sign-up date. That supports my suspicions of “Troll”, but still isn’t conclusive.
Thanks, Leni, and BTW, I like your spelling of “Joe Bidet”. I think it’s very fitting... :)
