When Senator McCain chose Governor Palin to serve as his running mate, he unleashed from the left the most incredible torrent of sewerage we have ever seen heaped upon a Vice Presidential candidate. Alan Colmes said she caused the Downes Syndrome of her baby. Obama operatives said Trig was actually her grandchild. Al Franken helped write a skit for Saturday Night Live that suggested that Sarah’s husband had sex with his daughters. The head of South Carolina’s Democratic Party said that Governor Palin’s only credential was that she had never had an abortion. And so on and so on. To conservative and traditional Americans, this onslaught of slime and smears is beyond comprehension, and I have only mentioned a small sample of what’s going on. The question is, “why is this happening?”

And our side is ceding the battlefield even as we hold the moral high ground. When the government finishes the "bailout" and has nationalized much of the economy and the resulting depression is the fact of life all the cultural gains will disappear in a blizzard of FDR/LBJ type legislation. This time we are starting from a government that is already a far larger part of the economy and of everybody's lives than in 1930 or 1960. I expect this "bailout" to end in the transition to effective Socialism and the imposition of concomitant socialist values. We have stormed and taken the heights but the enemy is flowing around us and capturing the rear areas. I pray for gridlock in Congress over earmarks and expansions. This bill must die or the Republic will.

This is not comedy but depravity. That something this depraved has a chance to be aired on national television shows how far down the toilet America has sunk; that this smut was actually written by a person who wants to hold office tells us the depraved is now the common place, that it can be shown without any sense of shame or revulsion to most Americans. Why is tolerated? How far must America sink before there is an outcry! Should SNL show dung eating, barnyard orgies with political members tasting their own excrement, defecating and relieving themselves on each other? Is this comedy? Perversion is more like it -- perversion that tries to masquerade as comedy.

The politics of the left sees everything as fair game so perversion and depravity are coopted to make talking points. Comedy becomes a ruse and prop -- it uses depravity for the sake of political gain.
