Top 5!?
Top Ten!!!
Good grief! Can’t these people let politics go, even for a short couple of hours at church???
Now to read.
Top ten. Back to read
EEEEEK!!!!
This tells me the message was about marriage. If based on the Bible and not a political position it's not in violation of anything. Church teachings are based on the Bible and they have the right to teach its tenets.
Naturally, this "kid" was just getting his jollies so he could run home and post this. I'll be the couldn't wait to be the big hero on the DU block.
No money to the church, more pizza(paid for by Mommy DUmmie)
Hmmmmm....after reading the DUMmie’s note that he slipped into the collection plate, I’m wondering if his mother’s pastor was one of these pastor’s, recruited to preach sermons defying IRS regulations this past Sunday:
http://www.usatoday.com/news/religion/2008-05-09-pastors-irs_N.htm
Of course, if a Democrat candidate for office is speaking from the pulpit, it’s OK. So-called “separation of church and State” does not apply.
What an idiot.
Either the dummie spent a long time writing and rewriting this screed before taking his 89 year old mother to church (not very likely), quickly scribbled a nasty note on a card and dropped it in the plate (pretty likely) or he daydreamed of writing a note while sitting through the service and then came back to DU to boast of his great deed in the hope of getting others to join him in his windmill tilting (most likely).
Presto change-o! You are now the IRS.
Trying to reinforce his/her/its "coolness quotient", just so the Luciferian in the group doesn't get the wrong idea.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
It's quite the opposite from what this DUmmie is claiming. The first amendment guarantees that congress cannot exercise control over any religion. It does not say that those representing a religion are refrained from making political statements. So whether it's this guys' mom's church's pastor, or Jeremiah Wright, the constitution specifically guarantees for them or anybody else the right to speak their minds.
The phrase separation of church and state comes from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 to the Danbury Baptists, in which he referred to the First Amendment to the United States Constitution as creating a "wall of separation" between church and state.
My understanding is that Jefferson was afraid the United States would be saddled with a situation similar to the Church of England, which at the time had great political influence and where the monarch is also the head of the church. However, while the phrase separation of church and state has since been use by politicians and judges alike, the fact remains that its Jeffersons interpretation of the first amendment as it relates to the role of religion in politics, and that the responsibility to refrain from mixing the two remains with the government.
I think even Jefferson would find that restricting a church leaders ability to speak about political issues, especially as they relate to the religions belief system, morals and ethics (i.e. abortion), would be an infringement of their first amendment right to free speech.
I realize most FReepers are familiar with this, but in case there are any DUmmie lurkers around, they can use the education, as they didnt receive it in their government indoctrination camps. :-D

Ouch! That had to leave a mark!
Uh, then why did He establish His Church on Earth, DUmmie? I mean it's right there in His Words in the Bible (And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.).
But, you don't believe the Bible, do you? But you believe in God (judging by your statement)? If so, then how can you be sure the Bible isn't God's Holy Word to us humans? Huh?
oh well, in, but late.
Well said, Lousy Freeper Troll. I might also add that if donations are taxed, that reduces the ability of that church to minister to the poor, the infirm, and those having other problems, which is one of the primary duties of the Church, in general.
