Have any of these fools been to black churches where politics is the basis of everything they do?

Oh brother, no wonder I have experienced several "crises of faith" ... I love Catholicism, but not what the existing patriarchal system has done to this beautiful faith.
Huh?
Where has this DUmmy been for the past +/- 2,000 years?

The Catholic Church has always been "patriarchal". That's why Nuns are Nuns and not Priests. And if he doesn't like this *new* (srac) patriarchal system, there's an Episcopalian Church a few blocks away that will welcome him.

But I see another DUmmy corrected him on thayt. Prolly a 'Lousy Freeper Troll'.

No offense to Episcopalians. My point is they have women 'Priests' (Reverends-Ministers).

I’m just giving the benefit of the doubt when we don’t have all the facts. Sure, it may well be a straw man. Either way, it’s a DU jerk trying to puff himself up and using religion to accomplish it.

This tells me the message was about marriage. If based on the Bible and not a political position it's not in violation of anything. Church teachings are based on the Bible and they have the right to teach its tenets.

Maybe here, but what about Canada?

What about Canada? The Church has to deal with whatever countries they're in. It's the Church's God-given duty to preach the Gospel of Salvation.

Ain't no doubt about that one.

Funny, when I brag, usually it's on my kids, or my wife's cooking. I don't generally brag on picking a fight with the preacher. Strange values system at DU.....

BTW, it's lasagna tonite for dinner, and my wife is an amazing cook. :-) Don't have enough time in the day today to expound on the brilliance of my kids. :-) :-)

Naturally, this "kid" was just getting his jollies so he could run home and post this. I'll be the couldn't wait to be the big hero on the DU block.

It's a good thing you put the word in quotation marks above, sir.

Many seem to have the impression that the primitives are kids or teenagers or college students.....when in fact most primitives are on the verge of collecting social security retirement, if they aren't already getting social security disability.

The mother is 89 years old, so it's reasonable to assume this primitive is actually circa 50-69 years old, no spring chicken.

I hear ya. We had spaghetti last night. Tonight it’s leftovers since she’s closing her store. Only I’m the cook around here (mostly). I’m retired, the wife works, so...And tonight it’s leftovers since she’s closing her store.

And I’m not shabby at it, either. Only, I leave the baking and such to her. I just handle the meals.

I took a stab at calling him "kid" because of the use of the term "Mom". You used "mother", others I know my age (65) or thereabouts use Mother when speaking of their parents. Sometimes "Dad" or "Mom" might creep into a conversation but it's less likely in a written piece like this, IMO. That's why I took it as a hit piece.

I handle the grill. I can do decent things with the crock pot, as well.

Honestly, though, it's hard to ruin things in the crock pot...or on the grill. Mrs Wbill does all of the heavy lifting in the kitchen, I just give her a break every now and then.

And, since you mention it, I think that spaghetti tastes better left over. At least the sauce that I make (Grandma's recipe, cooks all day in the crock pot, makes the house smell sooooooo good) tastes better leftover, IMHO.

My pingy thing doesn't work right.

*** Hey, we'll have none of the smutty talk here. ***

:-) I said 'pingy' not 'thingy'.

An aside: My 'pingy problem' doesn't "Last More Than Four Hours", so on the upside I "Don't Have To Immediately See My Doctor".

(those *Electile Dysfunction* commercials are real smut, they make me wanna puke)

Now you’re getting me hungry :)

I learned to cook well due to my divorce from my first wife. I started with a bunch of my mother’s recipes I liked and went on from there.

We use the crock pot a lot, and the grill in season, but I do a lot on the stove/oven as well. We usually do things like spaghetti, casseroles, and such just before my wife works at night so there are leftovers for us on that night. She takes what she wants and all I have to do is reheat for myself.

Our son in in the restaurant business in Vegas so he’s very adept at cooking. He was home earlier this month for my 65th, so I had him do the grilling of the Iowa chops we served. He’s taught me some about proper food temperatures (things like thermometers tend to give overcooked ratings for meat).

Amen. They make it awkward to watch TV with family members. Try sitting in a room with your grandparents and one of those ads comes on the TV. They are worse than those feminine hygiene commercials ("Mom, do sometimes not feel fresh?").

"I'm a Luciferian Satanist "

Yes. Anyone who's cool is certainly Luciferian Satanist. Why we have three congregations in town. They do such good work. Human sacrafices and bile barfing....

It's getting to the point that it's cliche. "I'm gay! I worship Satan! I'm different!" eesh.

A major tenet of the United States Constitution is separation of church and state, and you have crossed that clearly defined boundary of separation

Like most DUmmies, he has crossed that clearly defined boundary of reality and fantasy.

The DUmmie probably just took your money and pocketed it.

True, DU's fundraising has been a bit shady on past occasions. But it was a legitimate donation site from a known company. The money goes directly to the organization, and the DUer just gets credit for raising the cash.

The idiot DUmmie does not understand that churches are permitted to speak out on nonpartisan issues. Prop 8, which is on ballot in California, is a measure to put in place a constitutional ban on same sex marriage.

The church will not lose it 301C status for speaking about a ballot measure. The churches are not permitted to endorse partisan candidates. They are even allowed to endorse nonpartisan candidates.

Of course this issues is never brought up when some on the Dems side speaks at a church without the GOP candidate given the same opportunity.

lol! I saw this thread while lurking last night and KNEW it would make the FUnnies. Absolute BS, I don't believe it ever happened, but don't doubt some loon will try it this coming Sunday. The “pack” mentality of these goobers is sickening.
