OMG, is that picture of him in the cowboy hat for real?

It’s even funnier than Dukaka in the tank.

So now they’re using a teleprompter at every stump speech, even during his supposedly extemporaneous remarks.

Is there such a thing as an extemporaneous remark while using a teleprompter...isn’t that some sort of an oxymoron?

To be perfectly honest, there’s an even funnier photo in that vein of President Calvin Coolidge in the 1920’s (In Amity Shlaes’ recent book on the Great Depression “The Forgotten Man”). I don’t know exactly what sort of event the taciturn Vermonter was attending but his enthusiastic hosts had dressed him up in this ridiculous Tom Mix style cowboy get-up with blazing, white oversized chaps sporting his name, hip, hip, hooraying and the whole nine yards. Somehow he pulled it off and wrung out a smile but you had to giggle.

He’s got “good” news for him, with the news about Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. The stock market is dropping, so now he’ll say it’s the return of the Great Depression, and scare voters to death about that. He’ll start comparing McCain to President Hoover, never mind about George W. Bush.

Since we're not sure if he is running against Sarah Palin or John McCain, maybe the debate format ought to be:

  1. McCain vs. Obama
  2. Palin vs. Biden
  3. Palin vs. Obama

I'll guarantee you that debate #3 would draw the biggest television audience.

"it sure is completely necessary to keep saying his middle name all the time! Its almost like we’re trying to put an image in people’s heads! But nah, that would be insidious and untruthful! and EVERYONE knows that conservatives always tell the truth!"

Hmmm...NO WAY is it obvious that you are a DUmmie troll...not a CHANCE, because all people know that DUmmies are always level-headed and rational...

I think a big problem with the liberals / radicals such as Obama is that they can’t talk comfortably about their true beliefs and still get elected. Conservatives tend to be proud of conservative values, and willing to talk about them, and try to persuade people to their point of view. But the liberals need to hide their true beliefs.

Consider that Rick Warren seminar. Obama said thinking about when life begins is above his pay grade. He doesn’t give a **%*% when life begins, because he is pro-abortion. He doesn’t want to discuss any aspects of abortion. He wants abortion on demand and that’s the end of the discussion as far as he’s concerned. But he can’t just say he’s pro-abortion, and the mother’s “choice” trumps all other concerns. And he can’t say that when life begins is irrelevant, but in his mind it is irrelevant.

And that’s part of the reason he leans on the tele prompter. In the written speeches, they carefully choose and parse their words. In an interview setting, he can get lost with exactly how he wants to say something without disclosing his real radical views.
