Oh my Lord, there must have been some kind of informal contest during his administration.

He won’t need a teleprompter because he will have the debate questions before the debate.

You may have hit it on the head there. It’s not that Obama can’t speak eloquently off-the-cuff. It’s just that he knows that if he does speak frankly, he’ll horrify his audience. Therefore, each. Little. Word. Has to be carefully vetted before he lets it out. And that’s why he’s so awkward without a script.

The hunting photo in that snippet reminds me of a funny story from J.French Kerry's 2004 campaign. His handlers told him that he needed a photo shoot in SW Pennsylvania or SE Ohio to assure all the pheasant hunters he was OK with the 2nd Amendment.

So he goes on a pheasant hunt, it is not clear who shoots the pheasants (probably the guide or one of his handlers), but when it comes time to pick up the pheasants for the photo-op, JFK picks them up by the necks and gets blood all over his camos.

They gently advise him to hold them by the feet, but his schedule is running late and there's no time to change the camos for the photo-op. So they go ahead with the shoot and doctor the photos. A few days later, the photo is on campaign lit which is in everybody's mailbox in SW PA and southern Ohio.

The real story has already made the rounds through hunting circles. So the only thing the men who got the mailing are talking about is finding where the photo was doctored. The doctors did a great job, but you can still find it if you know where to look.
