During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%.
She inherited a city with zero debt, but, despite the increase in taxes, left it with indebtedness of over $22 million...
And as governor...Palin proposed a $750 million oil tax increase (bad enough). But it came out of the legislature at over $1.5 billion. According to Alaskan Andrew Halcro, "she signed it saying she thought it was close enough."...

People who care about good fiscal management will NOT be voting for Obama. On that basis, I have no interest in a story like this.

Sorry your source is a know Obama supporter and Leftist propagandist. When you can provide 3 credible sources to corroborate we will take this seriously. Until such spare us the absurd drivel posted by Andrew "Obama's stodge" Sullivan.

Sould of known. So which collection of Leftist trash do you work for?
Isn’t this....www.dailykos.com/.....the hole that you came out of?
And by just what percent did the population of fast-growing Wasilla increase in that time? I suspect you’ll find the per capita increase was below the rate of inflation and that several major infrastructure projects were approved and undertaken in that period.
While we’ve got you here, perhaps you’d answer a curious question I have -
what did Satan promise you leftists in exchange for working for him?
That is such a misleading sentence. First, it simply points out that over 6 years the city and city services grew 33%. There is nothing wrong with that in of itself. Cities are supposed to grow! Second, it states not that taxes increased, but rather that revenues from taxes increased. Increased revenue is a good thing.
Just another article by some nobody trying to bamboozle.
The Valley (Palmer-Wasilla area) housing market was booming at this time. Many people moved out there and made the long commute to Anchorage.
IBTZ!
Is that a faint meowing I hear on the north wind?

From what I have read elsewhere, that rate of spending growth tracks pretty closely, maybe a bit behind, population growth at the same time.

“it states not that taxes increased, but rather that revenues from taxes increased. Increased revenue is a good thing.”
Yeah, but was it “fair”? That’s Obama’s yardstick - “it’s a matter of fairness” to tax the successful into poverty.
ROFL!
>>During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%.<<
That doesn’t say much.
After all, Reagan increased tax revenues by REDUCING taxes.
There I go again, comparing her to Reagan. Sorry. ;)
