Freedom through Regulation
Those of us sitting on our hands with tape over our mouths trying not to distract attention from the Democratic Convention in Denver are in awe of the obvious. Catholics take exception to the abortion policies of the Dems. Soldiers dont like the cut and run ethic that has only recently been watered down by the Democratic Party. Businesses dont want to hear any more of the taxation policies being proposed. The NRA is against the over-regulation of firearms that has become a tenet of faith to the Dems. Christians have had it with the pro-homosexual policies within the Democratic Party. Everyone has their own particular field of interest yet the central issue is being ignored. The Democrats want control! To them, change is synonymous with control.
The list could go on. Special interest groups are indignant of the rude treatment theyve been given at the hands of the Democrats for decades. When combined, they way they are in Denver, the central point of focus is the limitations the Democrats want to enforce on ostensibly free, tax paying, average citizens. This is their idea of change IE increased regulation of everything! That is to say everything except personal Freedom. To combine forces and expose the Democratic Platform for the Socialist leaning Platform it has become doesnt take a particularly bright strategist.
Should the Republicans honestly desire a winning platform, it is rather simple; a return to personal rights and Freedom. Reduce the need for legal counsel for EVERY conflict that takes place in everyday life. Reduce the over-all tax burden by having less government funded programs. Get rid of the excessive number of laws that have been put on the books over the last forty years that turn everyday people into criminals. Finally, there is no such thing as a hate crime unless they can find an equally grievous love crime. The term hate crime should be abolished. These ideas may sound radical but after some consideration, the leadership of this Country should be able to find a way to encompass them. Our Founding Fathers did.
This year, the Democrats proudly tout their Big Tent philosophy. Their tent will have to be very big indeed to accommodate the plethora of freedom eroding principals they endorse. What about the rest of the people in this Great Nation who are now and always have been proud of their great Country? All most of us want is a very small tent. Our tent needs to be just big enough for ourselves and our family. A small tent, rooted in Freedom is really not asking too much.
Great post!
