NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico Texas officials cleared the way Monday for the execution of Jose Medellin, one of 51 Mexican nationals on U.S. death row, for his role with five other members of a Houston gang in the 1993 murder and rape of two teenage girls.
The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles on Monday rejected Medellin's request for a reprieve. Medellin, 33, is scheduled to die by lethal injection at 6 p.m. CDT today.
The decision violates the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, according to the International Court of Justice. President Bush ordered Texas to comply with that decision, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the treaty couldn't dictate state court actions.

“The decision violates the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, according to the International Court of Justice.”
Oh DEAR!!!! NOT the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations!!!!!
I just may pour a couple fingers of Woodford Reserve in honor. Not of his death, but of Texas ignoring the World Court and doing the right thing. As for his death, it doesn't warrant any special acknowledgment.
What isn’t reported here is the fact that he didn’t say a thing about being illegal or ask to talk to the Mexican Consul until he had been on death row for over a year. Seems a little late to me.
If the globalist US feds want they could actually stop his execution. Bush could issue a pardon.
Randy Ertman, father of Jennifer, a 14-year-old girl Medellin raped and murdered, criticized the World Court for attempting to intervene.
"The world court don't mean diddly," he said. "This business belongs in the state of Texas. The people of the state of Texas support the execution. We thank them. The rest of them can go to h-ll."
Adolfo Peña, father of Elizabeth, a 16-year-old girl Medellin also raped and murdered, concurred with Ertman.
"I believe we've been through all the red tape we can go through," he told the Houston Chronicle. "It's time to rock and roll."
“As for his death, it doesn’t warrant any special acknowledgment.”
Well, I for one would CONSIDER crossing a street to piss on his grave; but only if I was going in that direction anyway.
Any competent reporter would have known about this case. Any honest editor would have insisted that it be included in the current report. I conclude that the Denver Post is both incompetent and dishonest in its reporting.

Yep.
Virtual popcorn scheduled for consumption at commencement of countdown to American justice...
Are you saying that the Denver Post is [gasp] incompetent? That they are intentionally slanting this story? You’re talking about the MSM now.
Lethal injection NOT sufficient for the crime. I have a few ideas though...........
We get to off a rapist AND give the Wold Court the finger!
I shall celebrate along with you tonight as well.
Hell, I violate that POS document everyday!
And that is what is lost in such World Court flippery, the fact that two children are dead, raped and murdered at this person’s hands, he should face the Highest Sanction that the State can provide.
That “court” has no concern for the Rights of his Victims, were the State of Texas does, Texas should impose such sanctions on him, there is no doubt of his guilt, and appealing to the Mexican Consulate is no defense of his rape and torture and murder of those two children.
