After denying residents rights guaranteed under the Constitution of the United States, the Village of Morton Grove, Illinois, finally repealed their unconstitutional ban on handguns this week.
The village board seemed unrepentent for their past crimes. One board trustee called the outrage " a noble experiment".
The Chicago Tribune reported that: Peggy Friewer, 56, who said her father was mayor when the ban was enacted, told the board that she was "very saddened that you would even consider amending the ordinance."
More good news from Heller!

“A noble experiment” now where have I heard THAT before?
I don’t suppose Morton Grove suffered a crime wave after all that publicity?
Either way, I’m overcome with nostalgia. The early eighties were dark days for the 2nd Amendment. The crime and disorder unleashed by the sixties/seventies judicial/policing fads were at full crest. New York city was the black hole of calcutta and it seemed the right to keep and bear arms was under assault from all sides and would soon be a footnote to history.
How times have changed. The important thing is to remember they didn’t change on their own. The liberals can be beaten but it takes patience and fortitude.
Well said.
And look who "won", i.e. took control of the city. It was the people who simply went ahead and exercised their RKBA without permission from the government. Yeah, they're thugs and gangbangers, but I think perhaps the rest of us could learn an important lesson from them.
What, exactly, is “noble” about others denying peaceable citizens their inherent right of self-defense? Further, the horrific crimes that result.
What a bunch of bastards.
And how is that going to happen?
Are you going to ask a gun organization to sue in order for that to happen?
Is there any lawsuits in Chicago or Oak Park by any gun groups?
And guess what...the NRA was NO WHERE to be found. Guess who did file it. The Second Amendment Foundation and the Illinois State Rifle Association.
Being an NRA member and all I'm not suprised you hadn't heard about it. After all, the NRA is notoriously silent when it comes to actually filing lawsuits to defend the 2nd Amendment. They seem to be far more familiar with K Street in DC than any Courtroom in the land. NRA...AWOL as usual....
But hey, I'm sure they'll be right there to help King Richie draft the next 'compromise' gun control bill. That's what the NRA excels at.
Best,
L
The NRA filed five lawsuits because of Heller.
Chicago
San Francisco
Oak Park
Evanston
Willmette
You lose again.
Name one lawsuit they filed BEFORE Heller.
Just one will do.
Oh let me guess, it's another NRA fundraising cycle....
"Help us NOW or we'll lose in SF and Oak Park". Hey BTW where was the NRA when the Village of Morton Grove was sued over their gun ban back in the 80's?
Oh never mind, they were AWOL....again.
Bunch of weeny assed Johny Come Latelys....gutless K Street wonders in $2,000 suits.
L
San Francisco against a total handgun ban when Feinstein was mayor.
You lose.
Oak Park Illinois. The NRA provided us with the money for our lawsuit against the handgun ban back in 1988.
You lose again.
IIRC they wrote some token checks.
BTW, how many winning lawsuits have they filed?
Anywhere? Anyone?
Buehler? Buehler?

The NRA and the Freedom Committee of Oak Park lost because the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the case.
Here's today's win for the NRA.

They need to attack NY’s Sullivan Law.
I’m probably moving back to Brooklyn and I don’t want to have to “provide a reason” as to why I want to own a firearm. I don’t think my dad’s cousin’s husband would be able to pull much clout for me.
And when I say attack, I mean NRA, SAS, GOA, JPFO coordinate their efforts.
The Second Amendment Foundation and the National Rifle Association already has a working relationship. I doubt the others will work with the NRA because of previous attacks.
