I have previously requested a copy of Barack Obama's birth certificate. Janice Okubo, Public Information Office of the Communications office of the State of Hawaii, responding on July 3, has chosen to refuse to provide a copy of the birth certificate. This blog consists of three parts. First, I quote Ms. Okubo's letter, dated July 3, 2008, verbatim. Her letter responds to my inquiry under the Freedom of Information Act. Although Ms. Okubo points out that the Freedom of Information applies to the federal government and not the states, most states, including Hawaii, have similar statutes. With respect to birth certificates, though, there is a separate section of the Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) that Ms. Okubo cites, HRS § 338-18. The link that Ms. Okubo provides in her hard copy snail mail letter respecting § 338-18 was dead when I tried to use it, but I obtained a copy of HRS § 338-18 from the Lexis-Nexis data base available from New York University's Bobst library. In addition, I obtained information on Hawaii's Uniform Information Practices Act from the State of Hawaii Website. In the second part of this blog, I respond to Ms. Okubo by drafting two letters, one a response to Chiyome Fukino, Director of Health, Ms. Okubo's superior, with a copy to Ms. Okubo and Governor Linda Lingle (R-HI), and also a letter to Barack Obama requesting that he send me a letter authorizing me to represent him in obtaining a copy of his birth certificate in the interest of avoiding accusations of political gamesmanship and manipulation. In the third section I copy the relevant sections from § 338-18 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes for your reference. I also quote from the State of Hawaii Website about its "Uniform Information Law" booklet.

The problem is, that's NOT what the woman in the interview says. She says “I can remember when she came to visit one afternoon when Barry was just FEW weeks old.” She says NOTHING about him being THREE weeks old. She says a FEW weeks.
To her, a few could have been two weeks old, or 20 weeks old.
The problem again, is people depending on what one person says another person said, and when you investigate, you learn they did NOT say that at all.
Again also, is there ONE credentialed person who has seen an original of the Hawaii birth certificate and says it's a forgery?
Other than about 10,000 unnamed posters, I think not.
I want Obama to be defeated very badly, and stupid unsubstantiated rumors and the conspiracy clique are NOT the way to do it.

President Truman awarded the Honolulu-Seattle non-stop flight route to Northwest Orient Airlines in 1948. They flew the route with Boeing model 337 Stratocruisers, then DC-8s, then other jets continually to this date!
If you doubt it, check this old timetable showing pictures of their non-stop Seattle-Honolulu routes!
Also, I flew with infants on commercial aircraft, since I was an infant in the 1940s!

That’s right. It’s the Presidency and liars need not run for office. The American people have a right to straight answers from candidates. They have a right to know whether he was born in the U.S., or one of its territories. Obama isn’t giving any straight forward answers, period.
Something you may not be aware of is Obama’s own relatives in Kenya have told the press that he, Senator Obama, was born in Kenya. This is the kind of information that is fueling the internet frenzy. If true, he is ineligible to be President, citizen of an American mother or not.
If he indeed was born in Hawaii, I want a President who doesn’t hide who he is, denies associations with people of questionable integrity, or tries to hide what he has done in the past. Don’t you?
Straight answers from the Obama campaign would go a long way to blowing away all the speculation, wouldn’t you agree?

I suggest you read it carefully then think hard. You want a crook in the White House. I don’t.
These stories about Obama’s housing policies, his connections with Tony Rezko, Black Reparations, ACORN, Rev. Wright, his uber-liberal voting record are all great issues for the campaign. They are the issues that move Centrist voters. And remember, it's the Centrist swing voters who decide every national election. These issues should be repeated again and again and again.... once the campaign gets into a real momentum, after the convention.... when the Centrist voters begin to care.
The problem is, when we waste our time and effort on non-issues such as this citizenship fiasco, we waste our time and effort... and that time and effort are limited quantity items.
The fact that Obama is not responding to is now is perfect RealPolitiks. The Obamianians will wait until some fools put all their eggs in that basket, then slam the door shut with a statement from the doctor who delivered him, the nurses, hospital records, etc. But they (Obama’s team) would wait until much later in the campaign, when everyone is possibly interested in that issue, when lots of ammunition has been wasted on it, not now when damn few care as it is now.
It's like the Rathergate issue. The WH knew exactly what CBS was going to do, but rather than a huge denial, they simply issues a quilt general denial. Then after the story had run, they used it to slam the door on Rather and the anti-Bush crowd at ABS.
To say that someone is for a candidate because he won't follow chasing a non-issue down a rat hole is an insult to both the other person and your intelligence.
