Glick Interview on FOX Shameful
I know Barack Obama, the Democratic Party's presumptive presidential nominee, is trying to move more to the political center, but I wasn't aware the duty of journalists was to help him do so. Obama, whose political position during the primary season was slightly to the right of Che Guevara and just a tad to the left of Fidel Castro, now sounds like a reincarnated version of Barry Goldwater. Folks, Obama is even going around quoting Ronald Reagan. I kid you not.
Obama's attempt to move to the political center has earned him the permission of the higher-ups in the Democratic establishment to appear on FOX News--who liberals believe broadcast programming straight from Satan's dominion. But votes is votes and any port in a storm.
Subsequently, Obama appeared on Your World with Neil Cavuto (FOX News Channel--FNC) on Thursday afternoon, June 26th. The program featured an interview conducted by Alexis Glick. From the start, it was obvious Glick was enamored with Obama. If she offered up any softer questions to the junior Senator from Illinois, he could have answered them in his sleep. Truly, Obama has faced more hard-hitting inquiries from MSNBC's Chris Matthews (who openly states shivers run down his leg at Obama rallies) or Larry King (who never asked a tough question in his life when he is indeed concious).
The interview was an insult to journalism, but it demonstrated FOX's willingness to sacrifice its journalistic values to have an audience with the rock star of modern-day politics.

I knew Fox’ exposure of Obama was too good to last. Guess the raghead sympathizer owner got after them
To his credit, Stewart Varney tried in vain to draw some content from this absolute disaster, but Alexis "The Obama Girl" Glick would have none of it, and basically acted as a spokesman for the the Obama campaign in opposition to Varney's pointed questions.
Varney went a long way toward making up for Glick's truly pathetic salivating by savaging an Obama talking-head in a later segment. This lame-brain took the position that Dems are entitled to other people's money because they want it: at least he was honest about their intentions. Stewart took him apart.
A truly grotesque performance. Brit Hume did the usual good job in questioning Obama's ever-changing stance. No matter what happens at Fox -- as long as Brit's on -- 6:00-7:00 PM is safe.
You’re right, Barney did an outstanding job. In fact, he should have conducted the interview. The question is: How did that teeny-bopper get such an important assignment? I should have mentioned Varney’s great work in the piece.
As I’m typing this, O’Reilly is interviewing the cheerleader who nearly climbed on Obama’s lap! Are they nuts?!?!

When will any media person ask the really important question: black reparations?
Rupert Murdoch is supporting Obama.
Most likely a condition of the interview being granted to Fox News was that Obama's campaign got to pick the interviewer.
Fox News probably had to grant the interview request regardless of the fact that the conditions imposed by the campaign compromised the reputation of the studio because under scrutiny the conditions would be considered reasonable. And if Fox is going to have McCain on their network for an interview, then they need to give Obama a chance too.
Negotiations with the Obama campaign probably started with the Obama campaign asking if they can pick anybody to do the interview. Fox News would've said no, as that would be unreasonable. The final compromise being that Obama's campaign could select anybody from the Fox News reporting staff.
I’m not surprised.
Obama has been running around saying McCain's drilling won't make even a dent for ten years, but he's talking about reducing our dependence by half in 22 years. O'Rielly did a decent job of ridiculing that, and of course, Sis-Boom-Ba-Alexis made it a point to defend He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Middle-Named's plan all over again: "well to be fair blah blah blah."
Did you notice also, Miss Fair and Balanced referred to McCain's "plan" but Obama's "solution?" I laughed out loud.
