But did we ever see the discharge Kerry got in 1972? He shows the one Carter gave him in 1978, but he joined in 1966 for a 6 year stint. The discharge in 1972 is the one I’m interested in.
That I know of, no other records have been forthcoming.
If you recall, in 1970 he had requested an early disharge and claimed to have received it.
So, the question remains, why does he display a discharge dated 1978?
T. Boone Pickens, in his one million wager, requested all records pertaining to Kerry’s Reserve Service from 1972 to 1978. Again, nothing produced that I ever heard of.
If substantiation is what you desire, may I suggest a copy of the book, “To Set The Record Straight” by Scott Sweet and Tim Zeigler.

The Swifties put together a class political smear book. It had it’s efficacy in that it was influential enough to help keep Kerry from being elected. Just because it served its purpose and we scored a victory with the book doesn’t mean we should start confusing it with truth.
Let’s keep our wits about us for Lord’s sake.
I shouldn’t have to provide “independent reliable refutation.” If you’re going to stick by a claim—or claims—the burden of proof for those claims is on you.
Can you refute that I am omniscient? Can you refute that I am not 8 feet tall? No, you can’t. But it doesn’t matter. If I am going to make such claims, the burden of proof is on me. Same goes with the claims made by the Swifties. The burden of proof—the provision of “independent reliable” evidence—is on them, and is on you.
So what do you have that’s independent and reliable proof of their claims?
As I said before, the book served its purpose. It worked. But that doesn’t mean we should be buying into it.
