Most people with a brain and with some concern for the future of this country are understandably upset that the five liberal justices of the Supreme Court could render such an terrible decision involving the unlawful enemy combatants who were captured on the field of battle and brought to Guantanamo – upset, frustrated and heartsick that this decision will increase the danger to us all and turn our soldiers into murderers in some situations.

Best way to defeat the American War Machine?

Flood the battlefield with women, children, etc, and perform a mass surrender. That will jam the system so badly as they all, individually, get their day in US court.

Each with a free (to them, not to you) lawyer, bail, release into our society while awaiting further court appearances, abscondings, fugitive status, and a hostile bunch of secretive Arabs moving into the house next door.

Absurd ramblings, I know. But the way things are right now, all is possible. La la lalala, we’re going to hell in a handbasket, tra la tra la!

Yes, Kennedy started out conservative, but has moved steadily to the left in recent years, having caught the RINO disease, and now is considered the “swing” vote. Souter is a disgrace, having presented himself as a conservative to Bush 41, and then promptly switched after confirmation.

I could see this coming for several years. Our civilian ‘leaders’ are gutless and demonstrate a depraved indifference for the security of the American people.

They coddle the enemy even as he plans the next 9/11. Much easier to kill the beast on the battle-field, but our suicidal ‘Rules of Engagement’ will put our brave men and women at great risk if attempted.

It breaks my heart and makes me sick to my stomach knowing so many traitors are among us.

Bush I’s legacy Souter strikes again.

I would think McCain would make this the centerpiece of his campaign (along with a sound energy policy which he has already messed up on with his reluctance to drill in ANWR).

If the Bush administration wanted to play politics with this, they should immediately start doing what the courts requested, but make sure it gets wall to wall coverage on CSPAN especially the details of the capture, the accusations against those being held, etc. Finally maybe we should just put them back were we found them, but let our friends (or their enemies) know the time and place of the release to let them deal with the situation.
