Is Barack Obama the quintessential politician who will say anything depending on the group he is in front of?
Obama won widespread applause from the Jewish community and Israeli citizens after he became the first president since 1967 to make public his opinion that Jerusalem should remain the “undivided” capital of Israel. The remarks were clearly made to pander to the AIPAC membership, the nations LARGEST JEWISH LOBBY.
Obama’s statement is that it immediately drew widespread criticism ... ...the Obama campaign made an attempt to get in front of the story yesterday. According to the Jerusalem Post “a campaign adviser clarified Thursday that Obama believes "Jerusalem is a final status issue, which means it has to be negotiated between the two parties" as part of "an agreement that they both can live with."”
This reversal in course echoes similar statements made by the white house a day earlier...

somehow Keith Olberman and Chrisy Mathews must have missed this. They are more intent on showing McCain with Pastor Hagee, or showing his 100 years in Iraq comment, than actually covering Obama comments that have real world consequences, and further show his total lack of credentials to be POTUS.
Another Obama bumble? Color me unsurprised...
I hope that changes as the race progresses. I think Obama will disintegrate when he is finally pinned down and made to tell what hope, change, and unity mean with regard to policies.

forget it. the MSM will never pin him down. to do so would expose him and he’s the golden boy (he who must not be questioned lest charges of racism result).
At the rate obama is flip-flopping on Israel & Palestinan terrorists, he is becomming a high speed fan.
The media won’t pin him down but he will have “exposure”. At the town hall meetings (which will be stacked with Democrat staffers and aides and activists as were the debates) and at campaign appearances wherever there is an open microphone.
He will slip up. His gaffes and “honesty” will cost him the election. The voting masses won’t get the whole picture but they may see enough to send a chill down their spine.
This really gets me. Ronald Regan, long taunted as a dunce has since been learned to be a man of intellectual substance complete with a body of written work left behind that is coherent and consistent in it’s statement of conservative principles. He goes to a no name middle of the road college and graduates with what? My theory is that he graduated with a NEED to understand. That launched him on a life of reflection and thought that produced his philosophy.
Barack Hussein Obama - affirmative action baby, does very well at Harvard Law School - the intellectual creme de la creme. What do we get? A honey-throated wuss that just follows the most extreme part of his party with two published books that show no intellectual depth whatsoever (but, OH!, what a wonderful “story”). Lacking depth, he lacks consistency. So, what does he graduate with? All the tools of a sophist, trained in the most subtle forms of prevarication, or so he thinks, as conferred by one of the “highest” (another puff please) institutions of learning in this nation.
Just amazing, and just disgusting - in that order.
It just reinforces one of the other basic distinctions between conservative and liberal politicians. Conservatives = what you see is what you get. Liberals = how can I fool them today.
